Can anyone tell me what the pin weight for this 1998 model is ?Crazy Horse RV Park - Lake Havasu CityCheck out this Facebook Page for Lake Havasu Crazy HorseRe: Health insuranceManulifeI would not use Manulife after watching this video. Be careful when getting insurance. My doctor recommended not filling out the medical questionnaire yourself but take it to your doctor. I would have answered the questions wrong twice if it had not been for my doc. One wrong answer and you can be denied coverage and financially ruined if you have a major claim. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G08phgECt3IRe: Staying in Canada in WinterVictoria has the mildest climate in Canada. The further up Vancouver Island you go, the more chance of snow and more rain. Victoria can also be windy. There are RV places open all year there.Re: Flooring InstallationI would like to tackle the flooring job as I had done several in homes and they turned out great. My questions are 1. do you butt tight against the tile floor in the kitchen and leave a gap at the other end for expansion ? 2. will the slide in the 5th wheel leave marks on the floor when it comes in and out ?Re: Residential Fridge Yay or Nay?Glad I found this discussion. We have an older 37ft 5th wheel with a newer Norcold side by side fridge/freezer that was recently added for about $3000. The circuit board failed so $500 later it works but not the ice machine or water dispenser. Now it's acting up again so my next move will be a residential fridge. We don't boondock so power hook up is a given. Glad so many are happy with the res. fridge. I'm next.Re: Question... happycamper1942 wrote: Last year we had a reservation in Casa Grande RV Resort, Arizona for the month of March, and were planning to leave a week earlier for a leisurely drive down from Vancouver Island, When it came time to leave, we decided to postpone for 2 weeks due to the very heavy rain, which flooded the I-5, two dams were in danger of bursting etc etc. We contacted the RV park and were able to postpone for two weeks without any problem. We also contacted the Canadian Snowbird Association and postponed our health coverage, again without any problems. After 2 weeks the weather was still crappy, this time strong winds and advisories not to drive RVs so we decided to cancel altogether. We explained the situation to the RV park, they fully understood and refunded out deposit minus a $50 handling charge. We also cancelled out health insurance, and got a refund minus $50 per person without any problems. All that and you call yourself "happycamper" lolRe: Cell service for Canadians in US Lenny K wrote: So when you get back to Canada can you switch back to the plan you had before changing it to pay as you go. That depends on wether the plan is still available. I ended up getting a better plan than I had for less money.Re: Cell service for Canadians in USHere are some important points. 1. Buy an unlocked phone or have yours unlocked. 2. If you are with Rogers you can switch to "Pay as you go" when you leave Canada If you don't have a contract. It costs $10 to switch and thats not monthly that's a one time fee. No more charges from Rogers while you are in the US if you don't use the phone and you keep your phone number. 3. When you get to the US go to AT&T and get a "pre paid" plan. The sim card is free. They will take out your Rogers sim (save it for the return home) and put in the AT&T. Watch now they do it so you can put your Rogers sim card in when you get back to Canada. 4. AT&T has a great plan for $60 with 8gb of data that rolls your unused data over to the next month. It's actually unlimited data that slows down after your 8 gb are used up. That's a lot of data in a month. You can use your phone as a "hot spot" with your computer. Other plans are available too. The beauty here is your Rogers charges stop while you are in the US and the plans are cheaper in the US. This works well but you have to be away for a few months to make this worthwhile.Re: Cell service for Canadians in USWow, talk about highjacking a thread. This was about cell phone coverage. If you folks want to argue the days allowed to visit the US, you should start another posting. I have a Rogers phone without a contract. When I head to the US, I change my phone to pay as you go for $10.00 and then don't use it. I do this to preserve my phone number and stop all charges from Rogers. The $10 is a one time fee. I then go to AT&T and get a plan for $60 per mo US which gives me unlimited calls to Can. and texting. Also included is unlimited data. You get 8 gb of data (lots) per month then it slows down but 8 gb is a lot of data. I use the phone as a "hot spot" for my computer and it's much faster than the park wi-fi. If you don't use all your data in the current month, the balance rolls over to the next month. Soon as I get back to Canada, I call Rogers and get back on a monthly plan. I never sign up for any contracts. I give my new phone number to relatives (some of them) and friends when in the US and don't worry about anyone else calling me while I'm in the US. Having a working phone with data when you travel is very handy for checking places to stay and Gas Buddy for fuel prices as well as road conditions etc. Canadians are getting screwed by cell phone companies thanks to the CRTC.
