Of course it came with GY Marathons which I don't trust at all due to 2 of them coming apart on my tri-toon boat trailer. So after reading lots of rv forums and doing lots of research I bought 4 Sailun S637's from "Rustybore" on ebay. $800 shipped to my door, now these are some SERIOUS tires. The Marathon weighed 37 lbs. the Sailun weighed 61 lbs, lots of steel belts and rubber. I could collapse the Marathon by just pushing down on it, couldn't even budge the Sailun. The sidewall is about an inch thick, I was very impressed. We have only taken 2 short trips so far but I'm very happy with them. So run what you like but don't rawdog a product that you don't use or haven't even seen.Re: generatorIf you want something that will run your house and RV look at the Champion Power line of gen. Costco has the big one 9350/7500 (I think) for $695 which is a hell of a good deal, it also has remote start as do a couple of smaller ones. The draw back is they are HEAVY and make more noise than the Honda/Yamaha. I have an engine hoist so I can get it in and out of my truck easily or on the carrier I made that can go on the back of the 5th wheel. Do LOTS of research for the applicaation you will need it forRe: How low can you go?We just bought a new ('13) Montana Mountaineer 295RKD from Pete's RV in Indiana. The list price was about $54K with all the packages you can get, we paid $32,990 + $99 doc fee, and $60 to fill the LP tanks. It will cost about $1800 to have it towed to Grand Junction, Co. where we will pick it up next Monday and bring it home to So. Utah. Fortunately we were able to use a portion of our home equity to purchase it. There was no haggling.....that was the website price, get a hold of Scott O, he's very easy to work with. The only drawback is no PDI but I've heard good things about Pete's and Scott assured me that they will check all of the systems.........We'll see:@. If something is amiss then I'm pretty handy, the local Camping World couldn't even come close to that......their best was $39,900. Unfortunately the rig has GY Marathons made in China so I'm purchasing 4 Sailun 637's for it and maybe new wheels, just have to wait and see if the stock wheels are 110 psi.Re: Finally Got it!Glad you made it back safely, seems like always something to fix on these things. I'm getting my Pacbrake installed Weds...... wouldn't haul w/o one and should be heading for Grand Junction, Co. to meet the driver and pick up our new Rig next week....hopefully.Re: Kenda Karrier 235/75/16I just saw Sailun S637 235/85/16's load range G on ebay for $198 ea w/ FREE shipping. The sellers name is "rustybore.... for those interested.Re: Kenda Karrier 235/75/16Thanks for all the replys, so far I'm probably going with the Sailun S637 @ 3750 lbs. just for peace of mind ..... if the wheels are rated for them. We'll see when we get the rig, not taking Keystones or the dealers word for it.Re: Kenda Karrier 235/75/16Thanks Chris but here's my delima as to your suggestion, I'm in So. Utah and the dealer is Pete's RV in Indiana. Yes I know, the PDI and checking everything prior to buying but Pete's beats my local dealer by $4,000 even with delivery, my dealer who won't budge on thier price......AND my bride has her heart and mind set on the "walnut" color interior. Been married 46 yrs. so lets just say I know better........ I already asked the saleman there if they would upgrade the tires and he said yes we can but Keystone WILL NOT give you a dime for the takeoffs in trade. So I will call again tomorrow and find out if the wheels are 110# rated, if so then I can install the G's when it gets here and sell the Marathons to someone with a lighter rig.....if possible. I will have to do some shopping now for the GY's ........DaveRe: Kenda Karrier 235/75/16Ok thanks for the replys, didn't see an ST on the Kenda so those are out. This isn't are first RV but it's been a while so that's why I'm asking. This 5th wheel is a Montana Mountaineer 295RKD, the listed weight's ....for what they are worth is ...delivered weight 10,137# carrying capacity 4008# pin 2145" and the length is 34'2". It didn't say but I'll assume it has 6k axles until I find out for sure. We travel just locally to fish and camp, maybe 200 miles is the furthest ... but longer trips may be in the works. We also travel VERY light and I mean VERY light. My truck is an '02 F-250 diesel 4x4, BD 60 hp "tow" chip", air bags w/ onboard compressor, Pacbrake, Hensley Trailer Saver TS3 hitch and I upgraded this past winter to Toyo Open Country II 285/75/18 "E" rated but has a load capacity of 4050 lbs. @ 80 psi. So with this kind of "maybe" weight will the Michelin ribs at 3042 be the tire to get or spend the xtra and get the G rated GY tires? Thanks again for your help.......DaveKenda Karrier 235/75/16Sorry about another tire question, I did a search but nothing really came up. We're buying a Montaineer 295RKD and it comes with GY Marathons....which I will not run, don't care if they are made in USA now. Had them on my tri-toon fishing rig, no confidence in them. I was googlin and found quite a bit of good reviews on the "Kenda Karrier HD Trailer Tire load range F, 3960 #" I found a sale on these on "Trailer tire and wheel.com" for $220 each mounted an 110# aluminum wheel. Balancing was $6 each and when you consider tire / wheel and balancing for $226.....that's is a helluva good deal me thinks. So my question is.....anyone on here run the Kenda and how are they holding up? thanks, DaveRe: Pete's RV, Schererville, In. ??Got a return call from Scott O. @ Pete's RV.....seems like a nice enough guy and he stood firm on thier advertised price. He said the only other charge is $99 for the doc fee and what ever it took to fill the prop. tanks if thats what we wanted. He's still at the RV show but will be home tonight and email me pics of the actual unit. Looks good so far.
