The build sticker with vin and weights shoes the 275/70R22.5 which is what the current sumitomos are.275/70R22.5 vs 295/75R22.5Currently have Sumitomo 275/70R22.5 which matches the coaches original tire spec. Getting ready to replace but having hard time finding the Sumo's. Looking at Toyo and they do not seem to have the 275's. My shop suggested going to the 295/75R22.5's but I'm concerned about going to the slightly larger tire. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.Re: Heading south from Tacoma early November. Thanks for the info. We'll be able to hold off leaving for a few days if weather is an issue. Winds do concern me. What would be considered bad winds for a travel day going through the gorge? I'm more used to west Texas winds on 10 and 40 - mostly flat but extremely challenging on windy days. I guess my other question was touched on...Salt Lake City Early November Heading south on 15, is there anything to be aware of?Heading south from Tacoma early November. Will be in Tacoma for work the month of October. Plan to start heading south November 4th. We've never taken the MH to the NorthWest and I'm concerned about our timing that late in the fall. I don't think I want to attempt Snoqualmie at all and thinking about going through Portland to I84 toward Pendleton and Boise but never been over Cabbage Hill. Passes normally don't concern me but the time of year has me second guessing. Any other issues heading south toward Moab and eventually Arizona? Plan to run the same route to Tacoma but in early October. 38ft diesel with jeep toad.Re: Newmar vs Berkshire - Diesel BunkhousesIt sounds like your looking for something older than 5 years. One thing to watch on the Berkshires is on some models pre-2014 they had a recall on over weighted chassis. There was a fix to upgrade the tires and air bags not sure what else. I'd research and verify that. Also, many of the older units came with either the 340hp or 360hp as an option. 340 paired with 2500 transmission while the 360 was paired with a 3100. If you plan to tow more than 5K then keep that in mind. We're new to our 2014 but so far it seems to be in above average shape for a unit it's age. I have the 340hp and it handles our Jeep Wrangler with no problem. Have not had it in mountains yet but will in a few weeks - first big test and will determine if my quest for a diesel pusher was worth it.Re: Induction cook tops in most new Coaches?Tiffen Red and Newmar seem to still have gas stoves and even in some cases gas fridge. National parks limit generator times which also affects how we might consider using generator to cook etc. If I was looking for a 45ft tag axle coach, I wouldn't expect much consideration into weather off-grid means anything more than tail gating. However, we're trying to stay under 36ft so it seems there are some choices still as far as gas appliances. Now, will anyone make a dual stove, induction above a gas ;)Re: The Dreaded 1/2 Ton Towing QuestionNot sure if you have a 6.5 ft bed or not. Our total length is 32.5 and we have no problem with sway or control. Big winds traveling I-10 last week through Fla. panhandle last week. Friends in 40ft diesel pusher had just as tough a ride with the cross winds. Our set-up is much different than yours with the long bed and higher payload but I don't see any reason your rig can't handle this trailer.Induction cook tops in most new Coaches? We're in the market for a diesel pusher within the next year - finally making the jump from travel trailer. While at the Tampa show last week, we noticed almost all new diesel coaches seem to have the induction ranges. I've had a hard enough time convincing myself that the residential fridge will not consume all my battery capacity but the induction cook top can't possibly be expected to run on the battery bank. Why have the manufactures gone this route? It's nearly impossible to find gas fridge anymore, now the induction range has become a deal killer for us. The Tiffen Red was the only one we found that actually had both gas fridge and gas range still available. Are there any others brands out there or has the industry simply moved on? Not sure why anyone would need the 4 coach batteries and solar any longer when it seems you will be forced into full hookup or running the generator. Of course, coming from TT and not wanting to use generator every day I may simply be missing the point. Still like to dry camp and keep gen. use to minimum. Wish the manufacturers would offer gas fridge and range at least as options.Re: AAA pros and consI have AAA after a couple of negative experiences with g.s. I specifically have the rv add-on. Like that they will tow me where I want. Have used them many times for normal auto coverage also and have always come through relatively quickly. My cost is probably more than the others but I have had good luck in the 30 years I've had AAA minus the year with g.s.Re: My Wilson Sleek makes data download speed WORSEI've experienced the exact same thing on AT&T. Only correlation I have is proximity to a military base. No answer from at&t or willson or weboost or whoever they are now.
