Maybe true in some cases but one situation does not directly correlate to the other. Failed sarcasm I guess.Re: Speeding in campgroundsso speeding in a campground is acceptable because it is Grandma or moms fault. I gotcha. 10 is. acceptable. Always in a hurry to get to the same red light but got there 10 second earlier than me. I laugh in those situations. But in all seriousness, they drive dangerously and it could affect others lives. Guess I need to find a plot of land and plop my camper there. No roads to speed on...Speeding in campgroundsDoes anyone else get frustrated by the fact that some people (more than you would think) completely ignore the speed limits set within campground areas? Some are 5mph, some are up to 15mph. I try to relax when I go camping, but sometimes it is hard to do that when you feel like a traffic cop as cars rip by you. Most of them are not towing mind you, but those instances occur as well. Most places my family and I go are children oriented. They ride bikes, run around and play with friends. There are lots of blind intersections where a child or even an adult could risk getting hit by one of these maniacs. I lost my voice at Yogi bears Java Jellystone over July 4th from yelling "slow down" so many times. Maybe I am overreacting, but last time I checked, 5mph was almost walking speed or a extremely slow jog. These so called campers acted like they were driving in nascar or the autobahn. Some of the people were simply going from site to site in their car instead of walking (big park) and my real question is what is the rush? Of course at Jellystone the teenage employees of the campground were not exactly setting a good example by hauling around in their gators, tractors and golf carts at well over the 5mph speed limit. I was not the only one who felt this way during these weekends but obviously some people disregard safety in order to save 30 seconds as with the regular roads. Rant over.Re: To sway or not to sway?Hope you got your hitch setup corrected. You mentioned easy hookup in your original post. Honestly, a wd hitch setup with built in sway control only takes an extra couple min to hookup. Safety of you and your family is worth a few extra min and it is not difficult work once you get a system down.Re: Ford 2.7 v6 TurboI should clarify, I am careful about what I pack. The wife on the other hand thinks she needs everything we have in our house in our camper as well lol. I love my F150 and definitely agree it is very capable.Re: Ford 2.7 v6 TurboPersonally, I would stick with the 3.5 EB for that size trailer. The 2.7 is a beast though. It probably would work if your using it for weekend warrior camping trips. Plus I read something a few weeks ago that really hit home. It is not necessarily the engine that limits you, it's the fact that a 1/2 ton is a half ton. Suspension, breaks, chassis... I personally tow a 4800 lbs dry 26 foot travel trailer with a 2014 Ford 150 Stx crew cab 5.0 v8 and wish I had an F250. The wife put the kibosh on that idea real quick lol. I just have to be very careful with what I pack and how I pack it. Plus my wd hitch makes me feel much better when going down the road. just my two cents.Re: Camp Chef MVP GrillCamp chef via an online chat told me that they have an adaptor to use low pressure hookup. When it came it was basically the fitting that the regulator is attached to that screws into the grill. That fitting then screws into a hose sold by camp chef that has a male quick connect on the other end to plug into the camper on the other side. They told me that the grill will function very well as long as I don't go any longer than the 8 foot hose that I purchased. Have not used yet. But the grill looks great in my garage lol. Very well built and huge surface area. Will fire it up to test once the three feet of snow melts off my camper cover. I like the fact that the conversion to low pressure required no modification. Plus I did not have to tamper with pieces of the regulator fitting rendering it useless. I basically have the ability to run the grill off low or high pressure (bottle or get an adaptor hose for a separate tank) now depending on the situation.Camp Chef MVP GrillI am planning on buying a camp chef mvp grill. I plan on using my low pressure quick connect on the side of my Kodiak Express 186E hybrid. My questions are as follows: Does anyone have experience with this grill? What parts do I need to hook up this style grill if it is possible? I think I will have to take off the grill regulator and buy some sort of adaptor that screws on where the regulator was along with buying a quick connect hose. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.Re: First season with your RV or travel trailer-what did you do?2014 was our first year with our hybrid. We went to different places almost every weekend except for one place we went twice due to friends having seasonal spots. We eventually want a seasonal to use as a home base, but will still hit up some new places throughout the season. Different strokes for different folks. I can see the advantages to not having to tow every weekend, but we like to expose our 3 yo to different scenery and available amenities.
