From my experience it's not exactly 48 hours, more like 49-50 from the end to the next start on our norcold 2118. I have a temp monitor in our freezer. On 9/5 temp started rising at about midnight (maybe a little earlier, and falling around 3AM. I've seen numerous posts around this and other forums about the poor strength of Lippert Spring Hangers, usually it's the rear that goes out first. Unfortunately we had this happen this summer, and thankfully we are all safe and found good help to install brand new ones. However, I have concerns that the like-for-like replacement will just break again in a couple years. So Im interested in reinforcing all 6 spring hangers in our Open Range, potentially with Lippert's V-Braces. The question is this: Has anyone experienced, seen anywhere on the web or via conversation in any campground, where there was a failure of the spring hanger AFTER getting the V-Braces installed?1.3KViews0likes2CommentsRe: DC to DC charger
I have a DC-DC charger in my RV to charge from the truck. It's connected to the battery, not the alternator. the max draw from the battery is 150% of the charger capacity (ours is 60 charger, so 90 at the battery. We have dual truck betteries and like 397A alternator in F350 Super Duty) I cant tell you for certain you'd be fine, but I certainly would feel comfortable installing a 30A charger with a 270A alternator259Views0likes0Comments
