Bought a fiberglass repair kit at Wal-Mart for $20 and fixed it in less than 2 hours. Sand the area, lay in fiberglass cloth, mix and apply resin, and let dry. I did two layers of cloth and resin out of caution. Still have the remaining part of the kit in a compartment in case it happens again.Re: Screen door openerWe have a very inexpensive and simple screen door opener. It is a Camco 43953 and is under $10 at Camping World. Hope this helps.Re: Solera Awnbrella question. We had awnbrella bows on a previous travel trailer with a long awning and they worked great. Never had to worry about heavy rains puddling on the awning.Re: Brake Buddy powerI forgot to add that you will also need a separate ground line from the coach to t h e battery ground so the coach 12V line can charge the truck battery while towing. This will prevent the brake from running the truck battery dead.Re: Brake Buddy powerI agree with Wolfe10 that the 12V line from the coach may not provide enough current. I use a 12V outlet with an inline 20 amp fuse wired directly to the car battery. The cord is long enough to reach into the car and the brake plugs into the outlet. In your case disconnect the vehicle ground cable as recommended in the owners manual and connect the outlet ground wire directly to the battery. That way the two grounds are not connected. Good luck.Re: Things in our RV Fridge are Frozen This Morning?????We had a Dometic that we could not adjust the temperature on that would freeze the food in the refrigerator. The freezer always worked fine. Moving the thermistor on the fin is not a good adjustment method. We replaced the thermistor with an adjustable thermistor found online. It is basically a thermistor with adjustable resistor in series to allow temperature adjustment. That was 4 years ago and it was only $21. Best thing we ever did. I bought mine from below. phone: 650-814-3389 email: skyforms.netfirms@gmail.com Good luck.Re: Smoky Moutains CampgroundsWe have always stayed in Townsend at the quiet entrance to the park near Cades Cove. There is a KOA and Tremont campground just outside the entrance to the park. Both are on the river and nice. A riverfront lot in Tremont is our preference. You can tube on the river from your campsite.Winegard TV Antenna MaintenanceAfter years of never doing any maintenance on my Winegard TV antenna it started leaking through the shaft into the camper. Research indicated the TV antenna is supposed to be lubricated with silicone spray twice a year. The lubrication not only is for the gears, but to keep the seal on the shaft from drying out and enabling water to leak down the shaft. Lubricated it today and will see if it fixes the seal leak of if the seal will need to be replaced. Another thing to add to my scheduled maintenance list.Re: Class A Technology ImprovementsIn the last 8 years not much. Last year we bought a new to us 2006 Sea Breeze. We had looked at new ones before we went shopping to compare features and decide what was important to us. The most important thing for any RV is floor plan. The only new change we noticed seems to be less carpet and more vinyl/hard flooring. We wish ours did not have any carpet. Other than that our 2006 has everything the new ones have. Ford has not made major changes to the chassis or engine since 2005. Don't worry about new, just floor plan, features, and condition.Re: awning support need helpWe had the same problem with our last trailer. We installed "awnbrellas" from Camping World. They are the bowed aluminum supports seen in an earlier response. They work great and are easy to install.
