Although I don't know if that would be enough to hold up to a shredding tire. Also I don't know how it would work inside the wheel well of the RV as it would move up and down with the axle and wheel (not connected to the frame or body of the RV).Interesting Product Coming RV-DE-FENDERHere's an interesting new product coming to help reduce damage from tire blowouts. Looks like it will be available sometime this summer. Thoughts? https://rv-de-fender.com/lets-go/?referral=2dfh8xf&refSource=copyRe: Locking gas capThe locking gas caps are mostly just for piece of mind. I had a used Jeep Wrangler I bought as a daily driver that came with one but no key. It was locked but a key wasn't needed. Just firmly squeeze the edges of the gas cap together while turning and it spins right off. Squeezing the edges together keeps the outer shell from turning freely when locked so you can still take the cap off.Re: toilet bowl waterI replaced mine after a year and it still leaked. Turns out the seal was good. Took a heat gun to it for 15-30 seconds to let it relax down against the valve and it's worked fine since. Don't bother replacing it until you heat it up a bit and make sure it's fully seated against the valve. I've heard you can also dump a little boiling water in there to do the same thing. Heat gun was quicker to grab.Re: Towing with Auto LevelingYes you still need the weight distribution. Although it may sound like your goal is to get the vehicle to sit more level, that's really just an artifact of the real purpose, a measurable artifact of what it's really doing. This is how we measure if the weight distribution is setup correctly. The real purpose of weight distribution is to transfer weight from the rear axle to the front axle. Why is this important? Because if you don't have enough weight on your front axle then you can't steer. That's a very scary situation. Keep in mind that this will be exaggerated even more when dragging all that weight up hill. It also may tow fine on dry roads because it has just enough weight on the front axle but you'll find out in wet or icy conditions, the tiny bit of weight you have left will not be enough to steer the gross combination weight of the truck and trailer.Re: My TT was wrecked by a hail storm. They fixed my truck several years ago when a 20'x10' yard tent in our backyard blew up against and over my truck in a wind storm. Sorry, but that doesn't sit well with me. Unless I could 100% legitimately claim it, I will eat the loss and know I did the right thing. I could call the home insurance people, but I would tell them it was not at the home, it was not insured, it was in a paid storage facility miles from home etc. But I still wouldn't feel right about it, so I'm not going to try. Wow guys, I never stated not to be straight forward with them. I believe in being super transparent and it's always worked well for me (and it's the adult thing to do). As I stated, get it out of the storage lot that you are paying for. Call your rep and see what they can do and if your home owners covers it. Good luck...that's the end of me taking my time to try and help a guy out with some ideas.Re: My TT was wrecked by a hail storm.Actually just did a quick Google search and although some homeowners insurance won't cover RVs at all, and some require you to list it, some also cover them even if you store it off the property at a storage lot. This aligns with what I was told by my insurance rep. Even said some will give you a discount for storing it at a professional storage lot because reduced risks. I'd say it's definetely worth a call. They will total it and low ball you but a few grand is better than nothing.Re: My TT was wrecked by a hail storm. Nah, I'd be up front with them but call your insurance rep. If you're anything like me then you've paid thousands a year on property, houses, buildings, cars, trucks, trailers, motorcycles. Boats, ect... and never use it. That truck is my only claim in the last 20 years. So when I called they were super happy to help...impressive in fact. Now in my case the picnic canopy and truck were in fact in my yard from my son's birthday party the day before but I know they've told me my home owners will cover other things whether it was on my property or not. Just depends on how good your insurance company is.Re: My TT was wrecked by a hail storm.Tow it back to your house and file a claim on your home owners insurance. Traded the Jeep Wrangler as well. In with the new. 2020 Cummins HO, Aisin, Night Edition pretty loaded. 3 hour drive home and what a difference in response and power. Trailer was unloaded so real test will be the first camping trip with the Raptor. Plus only used a quarter of a tank of fuel! I'm going to love that 50 gallon fuel tank. Now time to clean and ceramic coat it. I have a B&W companion coming to replace the Reese Elite I had in the old truck.
