Maybe we should start using this sign instead of waviing. Truck Gang Mike Hey Mike. I think you are on to something. Maybe those of us who are social should put a "Welcome" sign on our campsite, and/or those not wanting to socialize could put an "N" sign on their site. That would make it easier to identify each other. Or :D (friendly), :( (leave me alone). As for politics? Civility has disappeared. I am certainly willing to engage in civil discourse. We can agree to disagree, but lack of discourse and, education and exchange of viewpoints just leads to further division.Re: Is Socializing a Dying Thing in the RV Community?Fascinating discussion. I am relatively new at camping only - only five seasons. Socializing is one of the main reasons I go camping. I find it a roll of the dice. On most camping trips, which are longer stays, up to a month, I find someone that enjoys socializing, as I do. Every once in a while I will find a place where interaction is minimal. I find the least social are usually the big expensive DP's, unless they are retired seasonals. It may be explained, in some cases by the fact that if they are working and can really afford those big fancy rigs, they probably have a really high stress job and just want to get away. They desire solitude. Perhaps I will try sitting closer to the road. I always sit facing the road, and wave, and say hello, to indicate willingness for interaction. If I find a place that I like, and people that I like, I will often go back to that place. One couple I met this summer, I will be camping not far from his home, next summer. He is talking about bringing his camper to join me for a weekend. So there are still a bunch of us out there that are looking to socialize and add to the number our friends. I had to laugh at lakeside013104's comment. Kindness always wins in the end. I still open the door for everybody, man, woman or child. To extrapolate from another expression, if a person acts humble, polite and kind, one does not know whether or not he is a fool. Some people by their reactions announce to the world that they are. Thus the kind person wins.Plan a Trip sectionWe need the map back.Good Sam can only be used as a secondary site to check on destination spot discovered on a map on another site. GS campground ratings are also usually way too high.Re: Jayco vs Winnebago class A?Check out the reviews @ RVT, and others.Re: Storage compartment pans sagging, separating from sidewallsWhen mine was brand new, it visited a local body shop several times to address the root sat separating front to outer wall of the MH.Re: HELP - I'm running out of time, and everything is WETI would also run a dehumidifier in there once you cover the roof. You will have to empty it often.Re: Chassis?Starter Grp 31 AGM. CROWN1 AGM?Wow. I don't like having to check the water in the FLA battery, especially in the mid winter cold, but all the charging protocols etc FLA vs AGM and if there is something other than convenience gained with the higher cost of AGM is way too confusing. I guess I will stay with the standard wet batteries, my smart charger and plan to replace the every 5-6 years. In the meantime enjoy camping.Re: Florida to Upstate NY (Saratoga Springs)I 81 has nicer places to stop, overnight, if desired, with much cleaner parking lots than 95 and no tolls. There a a few good truckstop on 95, but traffic through D.C. And Baltimore can be brutal -also on 287, if you hit it near rush hour.Re: How many don't pull a TOAD behind their coach?Look for campgrounds that have some food within 2 mi. Then I walk. Usually, I'm only out for two or three weeks. l pre-cook most dinner meals, and carry plenty of extra food (canned goods, etc.). Some campgrounds have a snack bar for a supplemental meal or two. I am thinking of getting a bicycle to expand my range. One trip each summer is a tourist trip. .Then I will rent from Enterprise for a week. .I get all of the touristy stuff and extra shopping done in that week and spend the rest of the time within walking distance of the campground.Re: Breakdown InformationBadeye: Did you ever catalogue these breakdowns?
