They tow well and are light enough not to need a big TV yet are surprisingly spacious and easy to set up.Re: A Frames when you leave to go shopping etc....I lock mine when leaving camp. But before I had the A Frame, I had a Coleman tent trailer without a lock and never had anything stolen from inside. Locks are there to keep the casual, opportunistic thief out. The kind that think that if something isn't locked the owner doesn't care. That is what you are most likely to run into at a camp ground. No camper will keep the desperate or intent thief out, so don't give them any reason to believe there is something to gain by breaking into your camper and the probability of trouble will be low.Re: Is it an RV or Tent????Even "self-contained" is a bit vague. I have camped at "self-contained" campgrounds that were perfectly OK with an external grey water container. Other might not be. But it seems to mean that there will be no need for outdoor dish washing. A reasonable precaution at most crowded RV campgrounds.Re: Heating units in Aliner or Chalet A frames...Aframe campers have a relatively low volume to floor space, so they heat very well. Given the limited floor space, I would skip a any floor standing type of heater in favor of a compact table top model. A smallish forced air ceramic heater should do the job. In really cold weather, the furnace can be set to do the initial warm up and then reset to supplement should the heater not be able to keep up. Remember all heaters are equally efficient at converting electricity to heat. The furnace will wake you up in the middle of the night so cycling at night is best avoided.Re: A frames in a Walmart lot ?Our local Walmart used to have a nice, welcoming area for picnickers and overnight parkers. That is until some "locals" would camp during nice weather. Then the picnic tables and benches disappeared. But let's be clear here, Walmart does not allow camping. Some Walmart stores allow overnight parking. Exactly where that line is crossed is up for debate, but ultimately at the discretion of the local store and local ordinance. Occupying a motor home or travel trailer that need no set up seems within reason to be parking. Occupying a folding tent camper, seems to me to be camping, because there is enough set up and tear down that one cannot right away move if asked. An Aframe is a question one will have to answer for one's own self. Is it the modification of the vehicle or the time it takes that matters?Re: Flagstaff T12BH VS> A Starcraft of same floorplanI have a FR Rockwood A123S. I love it for various reasons, but mostly because it is a great camper for one person or a couple who likes to move around. If I were buying today, I'd get the newer A192HW. It has a similar floor plan with the fixed bed but the bed is eight inches wider. 60X80 vs 54X80 on the lower walled models. I never went beyond web research on A-liners because you have to go to the most expensive models to get an 80 inch long bed. At 6'2", anything smaller would have me wedged at an angle in between the camper walls, making it impossible to share the bed.
