Any Wifi that does not have a password should be considered unsafe. No password means the network traffic is not encrypted and can be "sniffed" right out of the airwaves by a hacker. Obviously having no password makes it much more convenient but nobody is really doing you any favors this way. My personal rule is to NEVER connect to an unsecured Wifi. (Must be WPA or WPA2... WEP can be hacked too). I bought a cellular hotspot and I use that instead if no secured Wifi is available. (I'm an IT system admin) Ok sorry to go off topic... no comment on the stock market though. ;-)Re: Paint/gelcoat protection warrantyGood morning, I appreciate the responses.. Stacy, I will grab that number over lunch today and get that to you in a PM. I just wanted to clarify this is the Microtech "first place finish" limited warranty for exterior paint, interior fabric, & vinyl/leather ptoection warranty that the dealer sold us as part of our service plan.Paint/gelcoat protection warrantyPurchased this on my new TT in June... I live 2 hours from CW and arranging for my TT to go back there has proven more difficult than I thought (just with my own schedule and of course having to haul it 4 hours round trip). What are the chances I could cancel this for a refund? My CW salesman said he'd check on it but haven't been successful in getting follow up.Re: Do Brands Matter? (Keystone/Crossroads/Wildwood/Jayco)Give good thought and consideration about the extra add-ons they're going to try to sell you.. paint warranties and discount cards and stuff... in the end a lot of money-wasters, just extra income for the dealer. Find a unit that meets your criteria... floor plan, features, construction materials, price, color.. spend some time on dealer websites browsing inventory to formulate an idea for what you want. Wife and I were able to narrow down dealers pretty quick just by how responsive OR UNRESPONSIVE they were. Pick a couple of dealers and then go visit. Have your idea of what you want but be open-minded. We went to the dealer with two specific units in mind from their online inventory, but wound up looking at 7 units. If they listen to your criteria and can show you units that consistently fit within that criteria then they might be worth your purchase. If it seems like they're not listening to you or you have to keep reminding them about your budget or that you wanted rear living, maybe time to move on. And lastly.. don't neglect your hitch.. depending on your tow vehicle you may want a weight distributing hitch. I'd encourage you to determine for yourself whether you need one, but if you have a half-ton for example you probably will want one. It'll make the drive a lot more enjoyable and a lot less white-knuckle. :-) Cheers and good luck! Hope to see you on the road. Safe travels; ckRe: Host Mammoth Question.Do you just run the pump dry for a few mins or do you have to put some water into the fresh tank first? I'm having the exact same issue that OP is having, city connection adds a couple gallons to fresh water tank after about 12 hours.Re: Fresh tank is filling while hooked to city waterSubscribed! I recently camped in the driveway in our new TT with city water hooked up.. the next morning my freshwater tank had a gallon or so in it. I took it as nothing and went on my way... glad I found this thread, I think I'll take another look! (edited for clarity)Re: Slide seals questionSorry to resurrect an old thread.. I'm a relatively new TT owner and am concerned with proper maintenance of the seals.. Do you ever have to replace seals? Or does 303 or similar maintain them well enough to make them last say 8-10 years? - ckRe: When do you want or need a WDH and/or brake controller?Weird.. my 2013 Ford F-150 SuperCrew XLT with factory tow package came with the brake controller. But yes I think you're legally obligated to have trailer brakes. As far as WDH you can't go wrong. There are many reasons to buy one and little reason not to. Your towing experience will be more comfortable and safer, and you won't lose as much steering and braking control. My factory receiver calls for WDH when exceeding 500lbs tongue weight. - ck (edit: corrected terminology)Re: Sequoia towing at max for over 5,000 miles - comfortablyWow very defensive answer for a simple honest question from someone trying to learn.
