For many years…if a lube shop wouldn’t let me watch, I’d leave and go elsewhere! Can’t tell you how many stupid people are employed in those types of establishments.Re: Durango to Angel Fire southernsky wrote: The road from Taos to Angel Fire is narrow and curvy but doable. How's your mountain driving skills? Pretty solid, I’ve been over the Rockies at least 8-9 times, the Smokies twice. Just wasn’t sure what it was like going to Eagles Nest from Durango….Re: Durango to Angel Fire oldave wrote: If you like scenic old steam trains, ride the one in Durango and then the one in Chama N Mex. Spectacular scenery on both. We typically spend about a month every year in Durango….we’ve ridden the train to Silverton, to Cascade Canyon and even ridden it for the Polar Express (grandchildren) during December when we stay in Durango for Christmas. Might try the one in Chama….thanks!Re: Durango to Angel FireThank-you both!! I’ll book my reservations tomorrow!Durango to Angel FireThis topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 30392695Durango to Angel FirePlanning the tail end of our summer adventure….can anyone tell me what the roads are like between Durango to Angel Fire (Eagles Nest)?? Any input would be sincerely appreciated!! Driving a Tiffin Phaeton (40’) towing a Tahoe…. Thanks!!Re: Which of these 3 battery brands would you choose?I just replaced my batteries with 6 of the Trojan T-105’s. Paid about $136.00 each at one of the local golf cart stores…..be sure to buy a battery strap to pull the old ones and replacing the new….sure makes the whole process easier. They are heavy…. All the research I did….pointed to the Trojan as the best. Also agree with earlier post….they are wet-cell.Follow up- Turbo goes out at 37,000 milesOne more peculiar thing……before my turbo went out I was getting about 7.8 mpg. After several trips (350 miles) after the new turbo and actuator were installed…..I’m getting 11.4. I know that is a very short number of miles to get a real number for mpg….but I never got that kind of mileage…comments?? And yes, I know there isn’t any way that RV towing a Tahoe should get that kind of mileage….Re: Turbo goes out at 37,000 milesYes, you are right about it being too late. I had talked with Cummins and they indicated a failure analysis could be done which would very likely provide the cause…..unfortunately Freightliner had already pulled it and sent it back as a “core exchange”. The actuator was bad and had to be replaced as well…..the Air Filter was replaced along with complete service on the engine and chassis. I’ve learned enough from this incident to make sure of what to do if there is a next time…..Re: Turbo goes out at 37,000 milesThanks to all who responded, I’ve learned a few things, hopefully others reading this thread did too so they won’t repeat bad habits. Thanks again !
