It’s great to know I’m on the right track with much still to learn.Solar power battery novice questionI recently purchased a Used Fox mountain by Northwood that has solar power using Go Power equipment. The control panel allows you check battery status by pushing a series of buttons to scroll thru it’s status. The panel directions say that it can be wired to show status of two individual batteries. My panel does not show status of the second battery. Trailer has two interstate 12 volt batteries wired in parallel. The panel says battery is at 100%. I have checked both batteries with my multimeter and they are both charged. So I figured I should check the control panel to see if the option for second battery readout was wired for the second battery. I have not done that because I started wondering if the fact that the two batteries were wired in parallel was simply allowing the solar to charged both batteries as if they were one and thus the read out at 100% was a reflection of the two? I am not an electrical guy and am limited in my knowledge of solar in general. So is my thinking totally missing the mark with my parallel charging theory or not? Thank you for any guidance or insight you can provide.Vancouver Wa vicinity campground reccomendations?I am looking for a nice campground in the vicinity of Vancouver Wa...the closer to Camas or Washougal Wa the better. My daughter is adopting a little one and we need to be close during the end of June and 1st week of July. I need a pull thru....Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :) ThanksNew Honda generator ?I've purchased a Honda 2000 Companion. Is there anything I need to be aware of or cautious of in its operation? Is it just start it up and plug it in. I have 2005 Holiday Rambler 5th. I'm not talking about oil levels etc in the generator, more about the operation of it with the trailer. thanksHonda EU2000i inverter generator owners ?I am looking at purchasing a Honda inverter EU2000i generator. It has the EU2000i companion generator that you can hook together for greater capacity. The companion has the 30amp plug receptacle. Is there a reason why I wouldn't buy the companion first. The way its advertised it kinda sounds like you would by the other without the 30amp receptacle first...but it seems to make sense to buy the companion model first to just plug my 5th wheel straight into...At a later time I could buy the other as time and money allowed. Perhaps I'm missing something so I wanted to check before moving forward.Re: Carrying bikes with a 5erI did a lot of looking and finally settled on a rear bike rack. I had a metal shop build and attach the hitch to the frame and bumper. Used the frame as I was concerned about the bumper not being able to handle the weight and movement. I bought a bike rack from 1up USA. It was pricey but it is simple to mount in the receiver and very simple to place the bikes in the rack. The setup is such that no one is going to be able to steal the hitch or the bikes without considerable know how and effort. The rack is extremely strong all USA built...I highly recommend it. Like I said its not cheap but I am still working and could afford it. I've seen too many bikes bouncing around on the back of trailers and wanted something high quality and dependable. I don't have a current picture as everything is in storage but there are utube videos showing the rack and how it installs.... Best of luck in your search......Re: Air bags improved ride while not towing? Thanks everyone great to get your perspectives. They answer my question :)Air bags improved ride while not towing?I have a 2009 2500 HD Duramax.... I'm thinking about installing air bags and am wondering if while not towing do they improve the ride of the truck. You know less jarring....smoother ride etc ??????Re: Ladder bicycle racksI have a 28' Holiday rambler 5th wheel. After looking at many options, I had my rear bumper reinforced by a hitch fabricator. It cost $230...I then purchased a 1UP USA bike rack. It was pricey but does act like nor resemble the hitches I see bouncing around on the back of trailers and or cars....The whole process was not cheap but I am not concerned at all regarding it falling off or losing the bikes. The rack switches easily between my truck or trailer. I am not retired thus spent a little extra so I wouldn't need to worry about it later...
