Talk to Karen there but can't offer a contact number just now. Good Luck in your search.Re: Allegro Red 33A, Itasca Meridian 34 B or Newmar Ventana LEWe looked at pretty much the same but in various sizes. Went with the Newmar LE 3847 with bath and half. Main reason: Comfort Drive. The Tiffin 33 had too small a bath was the DW's main gripe, and the short wheel base gave me pause. The Winney wasn't bad, but I don't like all the complaints of late on the Schwintek (sp) slide issues that Winney and others are using. Drove a Newmar 36 LE and was very impressed with the driving. We've had our 3847 for 3 weeks now and have put 1800 miles on so far, totally happy with its fit and finish. We've noted only a couple minor issues that will be easily rectified when we get to the factory since we'll be in the vicinity in a couple weeks. We special ordered ours and feel that's the best avenue to go to get what you want. Good luck in your search.Re: Time to buy tiresDon't feel you need to stay with the Michelins either. There are numerous other brands which will perform as well or better in an applicable size. I went from Michelins to Toyos and was more than totally satisfied. I saved some substantial coin in the process also. Just my $.02.Re: Tolls on toll roadsSame question applies in Oregon......thank goodness!Re: Calif. Purchase by Oregon buyer - Sales Tax ?Dennis, what you describe agrees with LaMesa RV and is what I must agree is most likely fact. Mark, the prices I've initially received from local dealers don't come close to Davis' pricing; we're talking about 15-20K of our money which is definitely not chump change. If the prices were very near each other I would certainly go with the more local dealer, knowing of course they have higher delivery costs to the PNW. Thank you all for the advice. This forum is definitely one of the reasons I'm down to looking and buying a Tiffin product. Our Winn. Journey was well built and served us well, but the newer postings about their supposed lack of customer service and component issues concern me, but that's for another thread.Re: Calif. Purchase by Oregon buyer - Sales Tax ?In the CA Gov link mentioned above, I find no section that applies to Motorhomes. There is a section on trailers over 6000 lbs unladen weight (I presume for commercial use), but not MH's. Maybe I'm missing something.Re: Calif. Purchase by Oregon buyer - Sales Tax ?2oldman, I was referring to several of the posts regarding the idea I may have to take delivery out of state. I have not yet asked a couple southern CA dealer to give me a bid on an order, but Davis' price may negate the need to worry about it. (CA delivery or not) The logistics are just a bit more complicated going to Memphis.Re: Calif. Purchase by Oregon buyer - Sales Tax ?Sorry to hear this. The plan would be to stay a few days near the dealer to make sure all is well and then head home. Getting another dealer to perform timely warranty work would be VERY unlikely since you didn't buy the unit from him. I'm not sure the selling dealer would perform warranty work on a unit that is not yet delivered. Point for discussion with dealer. Thanks all. Very interesting.Re: Experience using Geocel to seal fiberglass roofYou can check out Geocel's website at GeocelUSA.com. Geocel is the maker and Proflex is the 'model' so to speak. I purchased the ProflexRV at my local ACE Hardware in their RV section and I think it was $6.99. A suggestion to using caulk as shown above is to use good old blue painters tape above the gap and smooth to that. Pull up the tape and you have a nice even edge.Calif. Purchase by Oregon buyer - Sales Tax ?We just sold our 36 Journey and plan to purchase a new coach, possibly from a CA dealer. One dealer mentioned having to take delivery out of state in order to eliminate the CA sales tax. Is this true? Oregon is thankfully a non sales tax state so I will obviously titling the coach at my home address. Is there any other use tax, etc. that could apply if certain precautions are not taken? The other possibility is purchasing from a Memphis dealer (Davis) for a new Tiffin. Any issues there? Ron in NW Oregon
