I have tripped that thing dozens of times over the years, so maybe it just had enough. Bob (CA Traveler) I do have a multimeter, which is how I determined the breaker was bad. That's a good idea to measure power draw while the jacks are in operation though. Fyi, in the past I did speak to both the dealer and the maker of the jacks (Rieco-Titan) and neither mentioned anything about just using two at a time. In fact, they both said it should be possible to use them all at once (since the remote has an 'all' button). If using just two at once is indeed a limitation, it's a poorly-documented one. I will also post the response from the dealer (about the correct breaker amperage) when I have it.Re: Weird battery power problemThe dead one I pulled out was a 15-amp. I'm trying to clarify now with the dealer if this is correct.Re: Weird battery power problemThanks for the replies. I did replace the switch and I again have battery power! The photo doesn't show it, but the wires are held in place by a clip just out of the photo, so shouldn't be any weight on it. However, the mounting bracket of the dead one was bent a couple of different ways so clearly it had some stress on it at some point. Hopefully the problem is solved, and I learned something in the process. Good idea about the separate power line for the jacks, too.Re: Weird battery power problemGood to know - thanks! The connections are tight so I'm guessing something is broken internally. Fortunately they're not expensive to replace.Re: Weird battery power problemThanks - I did call the folks at Rieco Titan (who made the jacks) and they advised that all 4 jacks should be able to be used at once in this camper. I haven't added up the loads though - this wouldn't explain the power drops when the jacks aren't in use. However, I was just out with a meter trying to troubleshoot. Does anybody know what this thing is? I noticed there was power to the right side, but not to the left. When I wiggle it, battery power comes back on briefly - but it won't stay on. The connections are tight, so that's not it.Weird battery power problemHi all. I have a 2012 Arctic Fox 1150 with two group 29 batteries. Also have a 240 w solar panel. Have always had weird problems, like not being able to run all 4 jacks at the same time - a relay (or breaker) would kick out, then reset itself with an audible click after a few seconds and I can continue (plugging into shore power doesn't help). Running 2 jacks at a time is OK tho. I replaced the batteries, didn't help. Also, 2 or 3 times when we were out in the boonies, the power just died like someone hit a switch. We were only running one light at the time so almost no draw. After 10 seconds or so it reset and power would come back. Now I have no power at all on battery - dead. However, on shore power everything is fine. Fuses are all ok, and batteries test ok - I'm guessing a component failed, but I don't know what. Any guesses? Let me know if I omitted any pertinent data. Thanks!Re: 12 volt coffee maker DavidP wrote: Boil water and use a French Press. Much better than a 12 volt and will make better coffee. We keep one the trailer in case power is out. Yes - this. Our camper French press is a thermal insulated type so it's durable and keeps contents hot for a while. Works great.Re: Good Customer Service from Arctic FoxDave Mann at Northwoods is awesome. He recently helped me address a failed slide bearing when the local dealer wouldn't.Re: Seeking a Dealership HomeI have a 2012 Arctic Fox 1150 and a slide bearing failed on a recent (awesome) 3-week 4500 mile trip. Slide still worked fine, but finding bearings and part of the housing on the camper floor was unnerving. Warranty repair, and the only A/F dealer in town (Tom's Campers, Surprise, AZ) doesn't do slides. No problem - he has a guy right next door who does them but he's really busy... he'll call me back to set it up. After two calls to them, still nothing and I want to get this resolved. I got in touch with Northwoods and talked to a nice guy who authorized a non-dealer repair. Since I couldn't find a non-dealer who would do A/F warranty work (I called several RV repair shops, one guy was just plain rude) I have to pay, then Northwoods will reimburse me... which I'm fine with providing I get reimbursed! Truck & camper is at Orangewood RV now - they were courteous and seem to have a good shop setup - however, been two weeks and I won't get the camper back for at least another week. Took them 10 days just to order the part. I'm the DIY type as well, but this kind of repair is out of my league. Overall, pretty happy with the A/F tho after about 8.000 camper-miles and quite a few trips in the last year.
