That's not one of the four seasons! Just reading that made me hurt!Re: Enough truck for 5th wheel? donn0128 wrote: And again, this has been covered numerous times. British Columbia is the only place in North America thwt might pull someone over for weight. There is not law except common sense. Ok, so my post is probably wrong, but if you're over the posted weight and you cause an accident, aren't you still liable (or negligent)? Isn't that worse than a ticket for weight violations? Doesn't that also risk insurance non-payment? I haven't read the threads where this was covered. (Did I mention that I'm not a lawyer?) :)Re: Enough truck for 5th wheel?Be careful here. The mods may help you tow better, but if you're over the official weight and there's an accident, you could be in bad shape. So far as I know, modifications don't change your legal numbers. (Note: I'm not a lawyer.)Re: Fuse for slideout BB_TX wrote: Look for something like this near your battery. Possibly with a red rubber cover.Re: Towing difference between 37 and 42ft FWI made a very similar jump this year with almost the same truck. My gears are 3.73 which helps a little. Using the 25k B&W. Just did about 5k of towing and had no issues. The sway is non-existent with the 5er, though it wasn't terrible with the TT on this truck. As others have said, backing up is a whole new ballgame. I was pretty slick with the TT, but the 5er has made me look bad a few times. The pivot point is further forward and the axles are further back. That changes everything. Enjoy your new rig!Re: King pin lock RobWNY wrote: I use this one King Pin Lock but although it works fine, I don't like that you have to keep turning the key to lock/unlock it. Kind of a pain in the neck. I have that one as well. I've come to realize that life gets easier if you twist the side opposite the key and just hold the key steady. :)Re: Norcold Refrigerator not coolingI'm dealing with a similar problem with my Norcold. There are dozens of similar threads on the Montana Owners Club forums. The most common issue seems to be airflow deficiencies caused by improper installation, especially on units installed in a slide. Common suggestions for confirming this are checking for obstructions in the upward airflow on the outside of the unit. Hooking up a supplementary fan to push air upward for 24 hours and checking results. Less common are issues with the thermistor. This can be tested by simply unplugging it and checking your temp over the next 24 hours. If you have a multimeter you can also check the resistance (ohms) of the thermistor. If it's zero the unit isn't functioning correctly. I'm sorry, I don't remember the values it should be off the top of my head, but you can google it. Greater than zero though. :) Anyway, I won't post the Montana Owners Club URL here, but it's probably worth looking into. Good luck!Re: Looking for rectangular ceiling vent coversNot sure about the 2002 unit, but on my particular unit the rectangular ones are cold air returns, while the round ones are vents. Example: Cold Air Return That's in no way definitive, but it's something to be sure of.Re: Faceplate on Dometic CT Thermostat is screwyGreat news! Thanks for the update.Re: Faceplate on Dometic CT Thermostat is screwyThanks Doug. Let me know how the new faceplate works for you.
