This ^^^^^ It scares me the OP didn’t do this when adding fluid in the first place. :S Forgot to point out we were in the middle of no where and only auto part store only had 3 quarts available. Had to stop 3 other time and buy all they had.Where did my tranny fluid leaked from??1999 F53 with 55k miles on it and a Ford V10 Traveled to the lake this weekend and all was fine until I got to the campsite and as I attempted to get close to the water I must have gone over a soft spot but immediately sunk in. My front end all the way to the frame. I tried to reverse out but it did not budge. Another camper tried to pull me out and as he tried in reverse I was on the gas, but did not budge My tranny smoked and we stopped trying. I then see the I loss a lot of transmission fluid. I AAA came and pulled me out, my rv did not drive. So I poured 3 quarts and got it to move. No leaks It was not driving well and felt like the tranny was slipping. So I put another 4 quarts and then another 3 and made it home. I don't think is full as of yet ( takes 16 quart ) I'm wondering where did my fluid leak from?.. After putting in about 12 quarts I didn't see any leaks and yes the trans feel like it will need service. I must have burned or glazed by clutches for 1st and 2nd gear.Re: Dead batteries woesI will check on all this on Saturday. I notice some people use (2) 6v batteries. Is there and advantage to this? I'm using a single 12v but have bought another one so I'll be running (2) 12v batteries for the house.Dead batteries woesHello Well I've been at it for months now and cannot figure what is draining both my house and chassis batteries. 99 bounder with a cut off switch for both. I cut off the chassis battery and can hear a click at the control box. Most things shut off, like the ignition and power step, but have noticed it still has power to the cigarette lighter, LP detector, power to the generator and maybe the fridge. I don't think the cut off switch does anything to the house batteries. Both batteries are less than 4 months old, a marine rv for house and regular battery for chassis. I turn the generator at least 1hr per day to keep them topped off but sometimes I come to find one battery dead or both in less than a day. I've use a multi meter to find a drain and I get none. When running the generator my chassis battery is not getting charge, instead is being drained as is connected to the generator and needs 12v to run if I'm not mistaken. This whole issue is making me pull my hair, since I will be living in it for a few months with no shore power. suggestion are welcomed. Thank youRe: water pump replacementOk, I've installed a new pump. Runs quieter but the vibration of the hard pipe is what caused the noise. Now I have another issue, once the pump is running and I use water it pulsate. In other words it runs, stops for a second and the runs again and continues like that. On and off constantly I wish could add a photo also, since the plumbing seen weird to me because the intake hose goes into the pump but a second line with a valve. The out line on the pump the attaches to this same line with the valve and then to the coach. Not sure what the purpose of this valve is. and when it should be on or off.Re: water pump replacementOk, this thread has been hi-jacked lol.water pump replacementHello I have a Shurflo 2088 403 144 water pump that is now leaking. It's also pretty noisy. They sell a diaphragm repair kit for about half the price of a new pump. Not sure if I should just repair it, or to change the pump all together. The fact that is also loud makes me want to buy a different brand. Suggestions are welcomed Thank youRe: simple newbie question , refrigeratorIm sure of the wiring , two 12v batteries were wired in series. I'm thinking that because of of them was a dead battery no major damaged occurred. Now I'm happy that I may have solved my battery draining issue. Thank youRe: simple newbie question , refrigeratorOk, Was still dealing with dead batteries, bought new one for the chassis and noticed previous owner had them wired in series and not parallel.. I'm going to think this is my problem. Now the question is, has this caused any damage to the electronics? I don't see any so far, but will report later. I'm going to try an run my fridge on gas for a couple of days to see if the bats hold on.Re: Ok who's got a big one??Thanks for all the tips and opinions. Really appreciate it.
