Road is bad. RV is cheap. Not exhaust noise. Just wondering if others have experienced this or not and if anything can be done or not. Also wondering about the swaying. Hope all are well!My Class C Majestic is loud and all over the road!We haven’t been on a long road trip in a while. I have done about 500 miles now on this trip and my daughters are complaining about how loud it is so I downloaded a decimal meter app and it measured 93 dB at one point! Anything I could do to quiet things down? Also, it is swaying all over the place. Should I install new sway bars? I have heard good things about the hellwigs. Thanks!Re: Traveling in the ColdThanks all for the recommendations. Here's my plan of action: I am going to keep the RV winterized and not turn on the water pump. My black and grey tanks are outside under the vehicle so I will flush the toilet with RV antifreeze and put water down the drains sparingly following with anti freeze. We will use bottled water. Anything I am missing?Re: Traveling in the ColdSorry forgot to mention that I have a Majestic 23 Class C motor home. The water tank is under the bed and I will be running cab heat the whole trip. I had already thought of using the RV antifreeze in grey and black tanks. Just wasn't sure if I would be able to use the fresh water tanks. Sounds like I shouldn't risk it until the freeze clear zone (basically until I reach my destination). Wouldn't rock salt and antifreeze accomplish the same thing?Traveling in the ColdI will be taking my first winter trip next week and have never traveled in the cold weather. I will be traveling from Colorado to Texas and back. I don't think temps in Texas will be a problem but Colorado and New Mexico will get cold and freezing. My wife wants to travel with water so we can wash and use the bathroom etc. I do not have heated tanks. I have winterized the RV and will need to de-winterize before we leave. Any suggestions? How do people travel with out lines freezing and bursting, etc?Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there? The smaller one you can pretty much go anywhere a crew cab long bed dually can go (other than the height difference), not so much with the longer one. Majestic makes the shorter version with a V10 E450. My friend has one. Don't know if it is a different model than mine which has the V8 E350???Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. Not necessarily, you might have a 35 gal. tank, while your friend has a 55 gal. tank. On the last trip I put in 46 gallons on one stop and it was still reading about a 1/4 tank full. So I know I have a tank greater than 35 gallons and at least 50. So if he still put 12 more gallons in than I did I say that's awesome savings for me :CRe: How we installed an exterior shower DD716TED wrote: If the back side of your external shower is unaccessable and in a cold space as mine is.. don't forget to figure out a way to drain it in cold weather.. I didn't and it froze breaking the fixture.. I have no idea why the low point drain wouldn't empty it even with the hose removed but it didn't..I think there is some type of check valve in the fixture?? Now I don't use it at all.. I think you have to open the valves (hot and cold) for the water to drain out. Even if you take the hose off, water stays in there unless you open the valves. That's the way mine works anyway. I just did the same install with the external shower and love it for the kids.Re: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there? The 28A is the V10 on the E450. I have the 23A V8 on the E350 chassis. My buddy has the exact same length Majestic as I do but with the V10 on a E450 chassis (sorry don't know his model number). We camp in Colorado mountains all the time. We both left his house at the same time with full tanks of gas. We pulled over 4 hours later to fuel up at the same time and he put in 17 more gallons than I did and I am pretty sure we have the same size tanks. I kept up (barely - he lost me on the real big mountains but I caught up). It is slow going on some of the passes and people get pissy but not my problem I can only do what my machine lets me. Going up one pass it bogged down to 30 mph in first gear at 4500 RPMs. That was a mountain pass not a highway. I say go with what you are comfortable with. Mine works GREAT for me!
