Thought you might like another option to consider. Thor Industries makes the Four Winds Majestic for Cruise America (the RV rental Co.) They have lots of 23ft models (23A) on the Ford E-450 with the V-10 engine, more than powerful enough to tow a horse trailer. I bought a 2007 23A from them and love it. Thor uses commercial grade interiors and appliances to meet the demand of a rental unit. They do come with high mileage (100k to 150K) but that is not necessarily a bad thing, as they are "fleet maintained" and get regular scheduled servicing. Repairs/replacements are made as needed. Prices range from 19k-30k depending on model, year, and mileage. Their web site has a "sales" tab if you are interested in just checking them out. They also offer financing (7%) and extended warranty coverage on both the powertrain and coach (cheapest coverage around, they don't mark it up for the profit). If you decide to look into it further (they will let you try one out and rebate the cost if you buy), let me know. I would be glad to forward you the email of the sales manager I dealt with at their HQ in Phoenix.Re: Suggestions on a used Class C for a family of 4I purchased one of the used Class C's from Cruise America and couldn't be happier. I purchased the 23A, but they also have a 28A. Either is enough for a family of four. I chose to buy from them for several reasons. 1. They are all fleet maintained and kept in very good condition. 2. They are built by THOR and have commercial grade interiors. 3. They are built on the Ford Cab and Chassis (a quick review of the owners forums told me Ford was much more durable and less problematic than the Chevy's). 4. Though they do have high mileage, the engines are all good for 200K miles (I don't plan on driving mine more than 5k per year at best). 5. The price is excellent! and they will provide financing if needed. 6. They keep the units simple...no slides...but no leaks. The less moving parts, the less that breaks. 7. They offer extended powertrain and coach warranties that are the the best price with all the components covered. They were also very easy to work with, none of that high pressure BS. And if you find one at a location that is not near to you, they will reimburse you to fly out and pick it up. I did have to add a couple of my own amenities. Added a tv and antenna, rear ladder. Replaced the shocks and front stabilizer. Just something to consider.Re: Roof only Class C Cover Sooboy wrote: How about something like this? http://rvr.navigloo.com/product/shelters/shelter-travel-trailer-18-24-without-tarp.html A little too elaborate for me, thanksRe: Roof only Class C Cover harold1946 wrote: contact www.adcoprod.com They are a leader in the industry. Thanks for the tip...they are full unit covers only. Yes, I considered a tarp as well, but would rather have something more fitted.Roof only Class C CoverI am looking for a cover for the TOP of my class C. Something similar to a fitted sheet type design that will cover the top and extend down the sides maybe a foot or two. I have considered a "pop up camper" cover as an alternative. I park my C under some trees and just need to protect the roof. Any suggestions?Re: cb and antennasI have a Cobra 75WXST in my Jeep and just purchased another one to put in my (new to me) Class C, Its a great little unit with all the controls in the microphone Cobra 75WXST - Amazon. I plan on adding a 4ft Firestick to the side of the coach right behind the drivers door. One caveat, though. You need to purchase a 12v amplified speaker to hear it really well, the microphone speaker is kinda small.Re: gps unitsI purchased the Garmin RV760. Has big 7" screen with pre-loaded campground info, truck stops, rest areas, etc... It's based on the Garmin 760 Dezl for truckers. Enter RV size and it routes you only on roads you should be on. Warns you of sharp curves, speed zone changes, steep hills. Comes with lifetime maps and traffic. Bluetooth enabled and works with voice commands. I love mine.Re: Towing with a Jeep Grand Cherokee mrkoje wrote: http://www.jeep.com/en/jeep_capabilities/towing/#GrandCherokeeTab,http://www.jeep.com/en/jeep_capabilities/towing/#GrandCherokeeTab, Thanks for the link....I got a new t-shirt!
