From experienced travellers, what can the roads be like through Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and then down the east coast. We will travel in our 30T Winnebago, SunStar towing our Equinox,4 down. Thanks in advance. Bert and HeatherNewfoundlandWife and I travel in 30 foot Winnebago, towing an Equinox. We will be travelling from Alberta in 2020 to spend time in the Maritimes and the Eastern seaboard. Part of that trip will include one month travelling throughout Newfoundland, probably crossing on ferry mid July. Any information on roads, rv sites, Provincial Parks and dry camping in Newfoundland, would be appreciated.Satellite system for motor homeWe purchased a 2015 Winnebago Sunstar, in 2016 and it came with an Explorer Satellite system installed. Our device needs an update and new configuration to continue working with our provider, Shaw Direct. Unfortunately, Explorer went out of business several years ago. Has anyone else run into this issue and how did you resolve it other than buying a completely new system?Re: Tire cables or chainsNot really on a schedule. Have read though that if caught without chains in some States or Provinces you could get a hefty fine. We would not venture on the road if the weather looked bad, and I doubt anyone is out looking for violations if the roads are clear. But we've been through areas where the weather suddenly changes.Tire cables or chainsHow many folks carry tire chains or cables for their motor home? Our Winnebago Sunstar is 18000 pounds and we are planning to travel mid October from Calgary to Spokane then further west to the coast and south to California.Re: Taking Personal Responsibility to new lows.We were driving down a country road a few days ago when suddenly a deer darted in front of us. DW slammed on the brakes and we missed the deer by a thread. After a few minutes I began to wander why the county hadn't put up signs all along the road warning deer to look both ways. We were almost over the hill.Re: Transfer switchThe relay connected to shore power fried on our 2015 Itasca Sunstar due to loose screws on the incoming line. This was a recall by Winnebago, so we had it repaired at the WBG dealer. The entire transfer switch was replaced do to the possibility of the terminal screws getting loose over time/miles. I assume there was a design change on the relay terminal fasteners. We found out about the recall on the Winnie forum. Checking the terminal screws on a regular basis may have prevent this issue. Just remember to unplug from shore power and make sure the jenny is off before checking the transfer switch. Something I will now do regularly.Hwy 376 and 305Has anyone travelled 376 and 305 from Tonopah to Battle Mountain in late March? Driving a 30 foot gas motorhome with toad.Mississippi river tripHello all. Travelling in our 30 Ft 2015 Itasca Sun Star towing an Equinox, looking at starting in late September. Once across the border, We plan to start from Itasca State Park in Minnesota (oh I wander why) and follow the start of the Mississippi down to the gulf. Have any of you followed the Great River Road down to New Orleans? Looking for input on places to see and avoid. We are partial to State Parks, but will stay in RV parks or dry camp if available. We belong to Pass Port America, Good Sam and the Escapees group. Thanks, Bert and Heatherbumper attachment to 5th wheelWe have a 2008 3 slide keystone Challenger 5th Wheel, 30 TRL. The bumper appears to be loose on the curbside. Before I remove the coroplast, to inspect the design and how it is attached, has anyone experienced this problem?
