I will try replacing my Thermostat asap, I should have mentioned , My unit was replaced because it was not cooling properly, not for the current issue, When I mentioned it to my rv tech or dealer we could not get it to act up so to speak when they were present. The unit still does not cool NEAR AS WELL at the bedroom unit. I heard the (because of room size arguments) It just never has cooled properly, I can go in the unit anytime hot or cold day , Turn on both a/c units and test with thermometer, Bedroom unit blows WAY WAY WAY Colder than living unit . Always has.,Air Conditioner does not act right "some times"Dont know how to explain this but I will try. Some times our main A/C when set to auto works perfectly. Room gets cool , Compressor and fan shuts off till temp rises . Then comes back on when needed to cool room when temp gets over setting. A sit should . AUTO BUT ,. Some times when room reaches temp setting (say 75) Fan cuts off BUT only for a second. You can still hear the compressor running (humming-growl noise) then then Fan comes back on, Unit will not cycle as it should. Unplugging the power to the rv and replugging it SOME TIMES corrects it . and Some times it does not . Am I making any since >?? Something is causing the a/c unit to not work properly on the auto setting ,, But not all the time. I can set it to Cool, blows constant as it should, and compressor cycles on and off with room temp setting. As it should. Funny note I might add. This unit has been replaced 3 times under warranty. Yes thats correct THREE TIMES.Re: Big black antsIndeed sounds like "Carpenter Ants" we own a pest control company in Texas. Those little boogers think foam insulation is ice cream, I have seen MAny a rv infested with them . Previous posted suggested bait. It works very very well but not to fast. If you can find a product called Taurus or anything with the active ingredient fiprolil it is very lethal to them and many other ants. The do like food .and sweet stuff. But mostly are looking to nest in wood that has been previously damaged by water or rot. Good luck with those little monsters ! Dont give up.Re: Kawasaki Mule in truck bed, RV trailer towing"If you check the actual numbers and it works, consider putting it in the truck backwards...I believe they are rear engine so backwards puts most of the ATV weight in front of the axle. But really it's a pretty marginal setup. " Measured that too , the little bed sticks out to far to put it in backwards. Would not clear my fender wells,. and probably take out the back window.Re: Dometic Duct and Non Duct A/C roof air swap prichardson wrote: To determine if an A/C unit is operating to capacity one needs know the temperature of the air entering and leaving the unit. You say the output of one unit is 58 degrees. If that is the case and the temperature of the return air is 75 degrees or above, the A/C is doing all it can and the only solution is a higher capacity unit. Yeah, Turn on both units on a hot day and LR air output is 58 to 60 deg. BR output is 48 deg. this is shortly after compressor kicks in . LR unit NEVER blows any cooler., This is Strait Out Of unit. Not the ducts.Re: Dometic Duct and Non Duct A/C roof air swapCorrect, The tech did test the living area unit before replacing , each time, The first 2 apparently had compressor amp draw issues. ?Re: Kawasaki Mule in truck bed, RV trailer towingWas doing a little measuring , The Mule rear tires would sit right on top of the bumper With tailgate removed I would need some blocks right under the rear tires of the Mule.(they would be on top of the rear bumper giving same level as bed) Front tires would just touch bed in front if the finder wells. I may have to remove the front aftermarket Mule bumper for this to fit. (Smaller Mule 2019 SX 400 cc") Silverado/Sierra 2500 HD Ext Cab 6.6L V-8 TD 12,000 (s)/ 2WD Standard Bed 15,700 (a or m,s)Re: Dometic Duct and Non Duct A/C roof air swapIndeed unusual, The first living area unit that came with the rv was pure junked, 2016 trailer and the unit was a dud from the get go. The second unit worked for about 2 months, then exibited the same problem as the previous unit. The 3rd seems better but not if its hot outdoors, The rv tech said dometic had a whole batch of bum units , was a compressor pressure and amp draw problem if I recall correctly . So the Unit is the same, diff being ceiling hardware and mount option. Ductwork what I thought, But I did mod it to shoot straight out in the living area, And just cools poorly . Strait from exhaust.Re: Kawasaki Mule in truck bed, RV trailer towingso I would be ,and apparently usually run around a little overloaded /.Dometic Duct and Non Duct A/C roof air swapHey Folks, I have 2 air units in my RV , Both are 13,500 btu units. The living area unit new did not cool properly, So was swapped under warranty , The replaced unit again cooled poorly and was replaced a second time under Warranty. However it still does not cool as well as the bed room unit. living unit output temp is 58 deg on a 90 deg day, At the unit exhaust port. Bedroom unit is 48 deg at the same exhaust port, I never understood why the bed rooms air is SO Much colder but. Want to swap the units . bedroom to the living , and living to bedroom. One is duct, , the other has a ceiling kit. Is this swap doable without purchasing any parts?
