But that should have protected the battery. Also, if not disconnecting the battery and just turning everything off does not. The CO detector / gas detectors which are safety devices and therefore don't have a disconnect, except removal of the fuse in the breaker/fuse box. Charge the battery up and disconnect using the battery disconnect, if it has one. If not, disconnect the battery terminal. That should protect the battery until you get ready to use it.Re: Would you get new tires ?What JimK said, I've had the same experience. I experienced one set that looked perfect, no dry rot showing, I think 6 years old. Decided to change them. When they let the air out, several tires had 1/4" cracks open around the bead. I don't let mine go more than 5 now.Re: No power getting to my Angler 8C, 2001I've changed several of the converters over the years. I would personally only change the converter at the bottom section. Would require only a few wire changes. But you can change the whole power center. There are several good converters that are multistage charging which will protect the battery better. I like the Progressive Dynamics PD9100 with the charge wizard. It has maintained two 122Ah lead acid batteries for 12 years. Batteries are just a little weak now. But that fantastic for lead acid walmart batteries. If you have a location it will fit somewhere, all required is to run a bit of wiring to get it back working. Good luck.Re: A/C blower motor question..If you are mechanically inclined and you can tell the shafts and bushings are fair too good. Our 2005 Coleman blower shafts dried and were loud in 2016. Motor shafts were stuck on both motor ends. Both sintered bronze bushings released by drilled rivets holding them on the motor ends. Cleaned dried grease from both shafts and bushing to release from both ends. Heated both sintered bronze bushings and dipped in grease and allowed grease to cool. Put bushings held back on motor bell ends using small screws rather than rivets. Reinstalled the motor on the AC and has been working for about 8 more years. I think a replaced motor back then about something like $180. Much more than about 2 hours for my time and no $.Re: Palomino Maverick M-800 on 2018 GMC 3500 STD BOX 4x4We had an 2003 which, from what I remember, is about the same as current years. Carried it on a Chevy gas 2500HD. The truck didn't know it was back there. We didn't put on a sway bar and air bags to control sway until the next TC. Quality was as good as any in the price range. Be aware they had a small black tank. Not sure what the new one's have. I really liked it but the wife didn't like the 5cu ft fridge and the distance from the floor to the bed. Short "old" people are cry babies! She was always saying she was going to fall out of the bed and break her hip. Sold it and got one with a basement, now she's happy. Of course it weighs about twice as much. I visited the factory where they were made in Michigan just north of Shipshewana, IN. Nothing ground breaking but it always nice to know what goes into their production.Re: Dometic microwave no STARTCould it be just the key pad??Re: absorption refrigerator out of level, boiler temp controlMy experience with the Fridge Defend has not been a positive one and I always level the rig. It may work fine on a Norcold or Dometic system but does work for me on a Dutch Aire cooling unit with a Norcold control board. What we experienced with the Fridge defend is that when it is cutting on and off (I think it is about a 20 minute cycle) it did not maintain adequate cooling. As set by the manufacturer, it cycled on and off even when level and not moving. I put in a Dutch Aire cooling unit and a Fridge Defend last year. The fridge works great as long as I don't turn on the Fridge Defend. When I do, it turns the system off and on causing the system to go above 45 degrees. I texted back and forth with the manufacturer/creator of the Fridge Defend and was told that the Dutch Aire does run at a higher temp than others. He didn't give me any info on what to put the settings on for the Dutch Aire unit. His final statement was that the cooling unit is bad. While in my drive way and perfectly level, I was able to change some of the setting on the Fridge Defend and get it to run longer without cycling on and off. But when the truck is on the road it didn't work for me at all. I have to assume that it isn't compatible with the Dutch Aire. Turning the Fridge Defend off, I have now run the fridge for months and it works great, better than the original Norcold. So for me, the Fridge Defend was a complete waste of money. Again, it may work correctly on Norcold and Dometic systems.Re: Happijac remote plugLowe's and Home Depot sell phone jacks. Just wouldn't have the labeling.Re: Occasional Winter Camping??The tanks on a 8801 are inside so depending on how cold outside and how warm you keep the inside shouldn't be a problem. The windows and vent may drip condensation on you but for a night you could handle it. Make sure you have full propane to keep the heater going. It shouldn't be a problem keeping the heater going. If it isn't safe I certainly wouldn't go to sleep with on. Not sure about what yours burns but you should have plenty of propane for a day or two and I would guess more. If you don't want the hassle of worrying about freeze issues, go with it winterized. You will need to keep some heat inside to keep items in the cabinets from freezing.Re: Magnetec converter partThat is a high wattage resistor. It is about 2 to 2.5 inches long so I will guess in the 25 to 50 watt range. The value/part number is probably on the back side or bottom. You'll have to drill out the rivet to verify. That resistor is probably $10 to $15 dollars. Now for the opinion.... I can't speak for newer Magnetek converters, but I have worked on several old Magnetek converters, 2004 and older, and I would not fix it. The output was not filtered and controlled like todays converters. I suggest replacing with a modern Progressive Dynamics multi-stage or another brand of equivalent output. They are microprocessor controlled and have multi-stage charging which is much better on the battery. Look on line, I picked up one about 2 years ago for $60. Currently I'm seeing 100 - 150 on ebay. Good luck.
