I've been tempted to go for an 865 and sell my 811. There's an allure to not having a slide. Thats really why I like my Lance 1055 /\ this..I wanted the biggest non slide i could get and the 1055 fit the bill. if your friend is looking for used that would be a nice camper to look at. we love ours :) CameronRe: Oldie the bear II wrote: The Open Road factory was near where I grew up in Redondo Beach, CA. They were in business for a long time. I seem to remember the gas crisis in the 70's was the downfall for the company. ha I remember that factory..I grew up in Manhattan Beach...Mira Costa brat here :) ...cool camper..use to see those all the time when I was i was a kid CameronRe: Adding A Couch to Our Lance CamperThis is exactly what i am going to do mine. I made the mistake of ordering my 1055 with a sofa and hate it. Stare at bathroom wall when sitting there eating and hardly any room to exit the camper when the sofa is in bed mode. Wifey likes so its a go. Thanks for sharing. My ne projectRe: AM I NUTS OR WHAT??as I replied on your other thread...the 1055 is a great camper..plenty of room for two and i have a 100lb German Shephard and we are good to go..the dry bath is good and i am no small chicken(i have dropped the soap in there and my wife didnt have to call 911 to get me out lol)...toilet is a little low but that is a easy fix if i ever get around to changing that out...lots of storage and tank size is great..i am a Jeeper so I drag it down some dirt roads to get to my campsite usually out in the desert...i wanted the biggest nonslide I could get mainly due to the poopy roads i travel on...no slide no issues...of course I would love to go with a camper with a slide(s) but right now until they can make a bullet proof slide set up a non slide is the only way to go for me...you can pm me for any questions if you like CameronRe: SLIDE OR NOT?i have a 08 1055 and it weighs alot more then you think...sticker says 3800 lbs before junk and stuff inside...mine was scaled at 4780 when I weighed it last...that said I did not want a slide as I go off road alot so I went with the 1055...if you do go with a 1055 (which is a great camper by the way) go with a dinette..i ordered mine with the sofa and wish i didnt...when we are in there eating you are staring at the bathroom wall vs a dinette you are able to look out the window... CameronRe: fuel consuptionwell I have a early 03 calif 235 hp cummins and get about 12-14 with camper on (Lance 1055) and about 18-19 with it off...gears and years make a difference with the newer models with 4:10+ gears getting the lowest MPG CameronRe: dinette.I ordered my Lance with the sofa instead of the dinette and in hindsight that wont happen again...1) when eating at the table it is small 2 I am staring at the bathroom wall, I would rather look out the window. 3 when the sofa is down for a bed there aint no room to get by the bed to go outside....I think the booth type is the best for a non-slide camper like mine but would have a U shape if i ever get a camper with a slide CameronRe: 2013 host everestFred...any reason why you have not supplied photos of said "Delam"?...seriously..you have a few legit gripes but realy wanna see this delam...what you have goin on your tc is a little higher then "normal" and you admit to having a speedy delivery which I feel you shouldnt have accepted it in the first place. In reality these "boxes" some on wheels and some with none, have issues sans the million dollar coaches but I am willing to bet they have their share also. These are easy things to fix. If you want others to "side" with you or justify your warning to future (insert brand name here)TC buyers please show us. One last thing...did you already "LOSE" your $ on this TC or are you in negotiations to get rid of it. If it is the latter then one might try and get the issues resolved instead of taking a aleged loss...just doesnt make sense to me...but I am old and not much does these days :) CameronRe: 2013 host everestfred...you are sour grapes..i also have looked at your past posts and man i am glad you are leaving the TC community..yer a complainer and will probably get a bunch of coal in your stocking ...and I will say it again...good luck on the Warrior..you might want to rethink that purchase there sparky..I am sure you will post up a bunch of complaints on that rv also....have a Merry ChristmasRe: 2013 host everest"I never would have considered taking it to them, it is against every principal I have. I paid $50K for the camper and got $37K for it. If I lost two weeks worth of work and $1000 fuel and $1000 lodging it would have been close to the loss I took, not to mention I would still have a Host Camper that was only worth $37K....We are going back to Weekend Warrior high quality class C!" weekend warrior and high quality should NEVER be in the same sentence.. over priced gems that have the same issues as every other motor home/trailer with a few more(make that a lot more) thrown in...been down their road and it was the WORST product..had mine for 9 months and it delamed.Sold it real quick and never looked back...granted that was a trailer and not a class C but same issues I assure you so as others have said..GOOD LUCK Cameron
