I've often wondered how it would work if someone were in the towed vehicle to control steering while coach was backing up so as not to place the towed vehicle in a sharp bind.:h Might need a 2 way radio for communication between driver of coach & driver in towed vehicle. Just a thought...:@ I haven't ever tried it, but I read somewhere on here of people who have done so successfully. I intend to give it a shot if the need ever arises. Be advised...it will be a short shot!Re: RV insuranceYou might want to try Blue Sky RV Insurance.Re: Watch that bridge!!!I bought an RV GPS this year because it supposedly will keep you off roads with low clearances. We will see.Re: New DP Owner. Maintenance Budget QuestionI don't budget myself. If something isn't right, I fix it or pay someone to do it. In my opinion, it's an investment that depreciates, and a hobby I enjoy. Until I can no longer afford the hobby, I will keep throwing money at the money pit.Re: windshield wiper motor replacement luggnutts wrote: I need (want) to replace the wiper motors in my 1999 rexhall rex aire. Haven't had much luck, so I'm here looking for help from the folks that own motorhomes. Thanks for the help I know I'll receive. I presume your "luck" involves the ability to find the exact replacement wiper motor? I replaced my wiper motor on a previous coach, and I went through the manufacturer of the conversion of my chassis. After receiving the part, I cross referenced the part and found it to be a part manufactured by the chassis builder. The part was actually less expensive had I went to the chassis manufacturer. By the way, the conversion was Newmar, and the chassis was Ford.Re: Any Newmar 3911 feed back out there?I had a 2000 Newmar Mountainaire 39.5 ft. It is in fact a lot of motorhome for the V-10. I will say this....it will handle just fine on flat lands, but Monarch Pass was a bugger of a ride...not to mention the heat and noise from the engine being front mounted. It is a good coach though. I now own a 2001 Newmar Mountainaire 41 ft. with a Cat. diesel. I wish you the very best with whatever your decision might be.Re: Grand Canyon Railway busyguy wrote: Not worth the money. A camera in your face a lot. They rob you on the ticket going up and then in the middle of the trip coming back they stop the train and you are robbed by some supposed outlaws. I thought it was a very boring and tiresome trip. Very little time at the canyon. Drive and stay as long as you want. JMO. Busyguy Please don't tell me they weren't real outlaws! I cried like a little girl, and gave them my wallet!Re: Some outlets not workingNot that it matters, but I concur with the GFI troubleshoot.Re: Carrying Weapons North of the Border (cont) garyhaupt wrote: richcarfg...I think many of us are happy with receiving factual information, like the first part of your post. It's when it veers off onto the philosophical part that makes me go cross-eyed. This is where and when it goes off the rails and gets closed. Please...consider removing that part..and leave up the good info. Gary Haupt Brother Gary, I appreciate your honesty and input. However, the forum rules indicate nothing about sharing a particular philosophy. Had my philosophy been degrading or offensive to an individual, I could certainly understand your grief. My intent was to give someone information about responsible handling/responsible people with firearms. It is not my desire to inflame anyone about my posts, but if people disagree with my statements, they should certainly have a right to do so. If they dislike it, and choose not to say anything...they can just move on. But to censor what a person has to say is not an option in my opinion. My philosophical statement stands. Someone else will have to remove it.Carrying Weapons North of the Border (cont)Just for the purpose of keeping others informed. Please be advised that I spoke with the Chief of Firearms office in Canada last Friday. They looked at a list of permissible firearms and indicated that my particular firearm is allowed...with no restrictions. They also told me that they allow a combined total of 200 rounds to enter the country. I might add that they are very cordial. I would say, based on some entries of the original post, that people are very leery of those that want to carry firearms. I can certainly understand that feeling when "cowboys" brandish weapons. They make me a little uneasy also, but I ask you to notice that I refer to firearms as "weapons". I do that because I want to always remember that these things are capable of taking all types of lives. In the hands of sane, conscious, responsible people; they are safe. In the event that a less than rational person were to use a firearm to hurt people, you may be happy that you were in the company of someone who handled themselves responsibly. Keeping law abiding, rational, citizens from possessing firearms just makes it easier for the irrational to do harm to the innocent....they don't care about laws.
