Costly Floor Replacement. A year later I took a look at the slide during a steady rain...yup same thing happening. I saw this video and added a ski to that side of the slide. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lx8ouqlM5jo I have 4 slides. Two have these SKIs and two do not-its a function of the slide design. This particular slide is the ONLY one where water does not drop to the ground but rather rolls back under the floor. I installed the ski per the link above and the problem is solved. BTW, ski or no ski, if you don't caulk all the seams, screws, etc you can get floor rot. Don't ask how I know...Re: Add leveling jacks twinstick wrote: You can buy the Lippert 3.0 compete system from etrailer. It doesn't look too bad to install. I've looked at it, just can't quite pull the trigger on it yet. I installed it on my 40' Chaparral a few months back. It is very nice to use auto levelers for 99% of the time. Install went well although it took time.Re: Underbelly, reuse or replace?Scrimshield tape will work too. If you are having trouble with tape the 1x2 frame suggestion works to provide a surface to screw into. In either case plan to reuse the existing coroplast.Re: EMS-HW50C Hardwired EMS-HW50C Surge & Electrical ProtectorWe have one, very happy with it. It has shut down power to my rig when it was over 135v at the pole and when it was 103v at the pole. I have seen on other forums an installation using twistlock connectors to make it easy to uninstall. I have had surgeguard (prior rig) and can tell you this was the first thing installed on my new trailer. The progressive unit has a long history of good performance and after sale support. I can personally confirm their prompt and effective support. No affiliation just extremely satisfied customer.Re: City Water Filling Fresh Water TankI had this exact same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. Left the city water attached. The freshwater tank overfill tube was draining the next morning(Tank full). I wanted to cross-post this from the Forest River Forum that I also participate. Originally Posted by Flybob View Post .... Most times the following solution works. Turn off city water, Open any faucet to drop pressure to zero (no water flow) Turn on water pump allow water to flow for a minute or so then shut off open faucet Once the pump stops, turn off water pump Turn city water back on., This will reseat the back flow valve and 90% of the time corrects the problem. Once corrected, drain the FW tank unless you plan to use it. The check valve is the smaller one after removing the pump head. The procedure above addressed my situation.Re: TimbrensFrom my install instructions http://timbren.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/DR3500CA.pdf ------- Clearance Instructions: Rear SES Kits for Pick-Ups and Vans should have a 1/2" to 1-1/2" gap between the rubber spring and contact point when empty. A partial load, or vehicle accessories will reduce or eliminate the gap. Front SES kits are usually in full contact. Medium and Heavy-Duty Trucks, Trailers and Motorhomes will be in constant contact, and have no gap.Re: TimbrensJust installed them on my 2016 Ram DRW to eliminate squat. 2800# pin. Just completed 1200 mi trip. Very nice ride improvement on rough roads. I didn't need the spacers.Re: Trailer JackAgree, lifting one wheel doesn't always do the job so I put a bottle jack on the frame by the other wheel. It only takes a little bottle jack to finally lift the wheel. By doing it this way the lift blocks do about 90% of the lifting and the Jack only does about 10% of the lifting. To me it's much more stable/safer.Re: Battery TenderI have had mixed results leaving the battery tender Jr (750ma version) on my travel trailer batteries. Some have required Distilled water refills mid way through the winter when the BT jr is left on the battery full time. When considering putting the BT JRs on a couple batteries that were located an hour away, I consulted Deltran (BT mfgr). They advised not to leave the BT connected for long periods of time when you can't inspect it periodically. The engr's response was that "anything can happen to a battery while charging". My point--if leaving the BT on full time, make sure and check on the battery periodically. For me its not worth the risk of a fire or battery exploding while my RV or boats are in storage. When leaving my group 24/27 batteries for long periods (3-4 mo). I have had good results with the following; -Top off w/distilled water -charge them before storage -disconnect them -charge once or twice during the period for a few hours -charge them when taking them out of storageRe: Bathroom fanX3 on vortex2 fan
