While wheeling down the interstate at 65 mph i had someone point it out to me. I pulled over and put it down the way it should be. Next campsite had cable TV and when plugged into trailer my TV's would not work. My first thought is damage to bat wing from blowing around. Using multi meter to check cable it shows cable shorted together where it inters trailer. Every else it shows cable open. Now if I put bat wing in up pos. all cables show short. So what do you think ? Can something in batwing gp bad from the blowing around ? Why would it only affect other cables only when it is in up Pos. ?Re: Fueling and GPSMy best bet would be to look for these truck stop places and not try to stretch the the fuel tank to far. My wife is very smart till it comes to tech. She still has trouble with cell phone operation.Reading a map ? Well forget that one also. So when on the road it's up to me to drive and navigate and everything else. Just thought how handy it would be if there was some kind of app. that just pointed things like RV friendly fuel stops.Re: Fueling and GPSThanks guys I'll look up GasBuddy and see how it works for me. Thanks againRe: Fueling and GPSI hear you on that. I am pulling a 35 footer and sometimes there is no way to fit into these little stations. I have been at the truck stops and still could not fit into the gas area. I have dropped Trailer in lot with semi's and then gassed up and hooked back up. When out on the Highways like 95 or 81 or any others it would be nice to know where you could get in and out of. I would like to be able to judge my mileage a little better then to start pulling off everywhere when my tank hit 1/4 tank.Fueling and GPSIs there a GPS unit out there that can help you find a place to fuel up ? I know Garmin and the rest have the RV GPS models that you put your info in on the size of your Trailer and such. Do these also find gas stations that you could fit into to get Gas ? If not hwi di you pick your fueling stations for gas ? NOTE: Did you see the "Announcement : ★★READ BEFORE POSTING HERE★★" located at the top of this forum? I have a 2013 Keystone Laredo with what I believe to be the analog thermostat. You have to slide the little lever to adjust head and AC. Thought the digital would work better over all regulating the heat. Not so much of a temp change between running and not running. I was at my local camping store and told them I wanted to look into the digital one for my trailer. I was told that I would have to get numbers of furnace and AC units to see if they would work with digital or if I would need to change parts in both units. Told me those parts could run like 5 to 600 bucks for each unit. I thought BULLS@$^ ! Do any of you know of anything like this in changing over to a digital ?Re: Longer term storage questionI'm new to this so keep this mind. I first checked for anyway rodents could get in and blocked them off. Cover trailer and wheels. I always park on wood to keep tires from freezing to ground or sinking in soft ground. I use the PVC pipe to build T. Buying rodent poison from Tractor Supply with the hole in it. Set T between and behind duel wheels. Using coat hanger I bend a little hook on one end. Slide three or four baits over coat hanger and slide it down into T. This way if they eat one off another one slides into place. Mice do not have to go any further to find something to eat that also does them in out side of trailer. Tires I change every five years no matter what they look like. Get date made off side wall. Mine are do for change till next year and will do so early in the season. I am running ST'S but thinking of going to LT's but that is a whole other topic.Re: Short Term StorageOcean Lakes in Myrtle Beach. They have a large storage area and that is where it is. I will be there come February.Re: Short Term StorageThanks to all for reply's. I am one of those O C D type of guys and have spent a great deal of time under Trailer sealing off any access point I can fine. Even with that said here in NY when I put it into storage I do put out bait. I use the pvc pipe method of making a T and setting one by each side between the duels. This is something I can keep an eye here at home. I guess I out thought myself down there thinking by baiting I might be just drawing them into me. I do remove all food and water and give it a good cleaning when leaving it. Like some said nothing I can do but hope. I have not heard of fresh cab but I will look it up thank you.Short Term StorageI was in South Carolina for the first two weeks of November. When we left to come back to New York State we left our travel trailer in storage at the campground as we are going back the end of Jan, Now during winter storage or non use times here in NY I have never had a problem with mice or other pests. When I left the trailer there I drain all tanks, disconnected the battery and even put a little antifreeze in the drains. Now should have I put out some kind of rodent bait or bug killer while it sits in storage down there ? The storage area is huge and busy, very little grass if any.
