Best way it to retrofit to LED's Very simple if your handy. I have changed all mine interior lighting to LED. I would tend to agree. That may be a bigger problem than the lights themselves!! They just look so old fashioned.Re: Replacing ceiling flourescent LightsThanks for the input and info. Will see about the warm led's. My wife just hates the flourescents. Replacing ceiling flourescent LightsHas anyone ever changed their ceiling florescent lights to can lights with either a standard or led lights? We do not like the fixtures which are rectangular and look ugly not to mention the harsh brightness. These are on a 2003 Holiday Rambler Scepter model.Re: Inverter Issue Canadian Rainbirds wrote: PandK wrote: hershey wrote: The inverter and generator really are two separate items but they are tied together by the batteries. If generator won't start, meaning it won't spin over fast or long enough, then the problem is either the starter (unlikely) or the battery is bad or the connection(s) to the battery are bad. Your battery??? If the battery at idle shows that its charged then when a load is added, the same diagnosis as above for the generator except the starter part. Not knowing the age of the batteries, I'd suggest you do the easy first: remove the cables, ONE AT A TIME and clean the connection. THere can be a lot of connections depending on how many batteries you have. Don't assume that you can remove all the battery cables at once and clean and replace. Your memory isn't that good. One at a time. Wear eye protection. If that doesn't cure your problem, have the battery(s) load tested. If one is bad, replace all of them if possible. Replacing one battery out of a bank of batteries is just buying a bit of time until you have to repeat the process. X2 IT WAS THE HOUSE BATTERIES. 2 OF THEM WERE FAIR TO GOOD. THE OTHER 2 DROPPED TO ALMOST NOTHING WITH A LOAD PUT ON. HAVE REPLACED ALL 4 BATTERIES WITH INTERSTATE LEAD ACID TYPE. GENERATOR NOW WORKS AGAIN. THANKS TO ALL OF THE POSTS. X3, and Did anyone ask what inverter and what battery bank he has? Either one undersized will give the same result. Did you just give up? see my post at end of this list of posts. haven't given up totally, but for this year, yeah. Weather is getting too chilly to work outside on it.Re: Removing 3m vinyl wrap acker1 wrote: Looking forward to 3M's answer. I finally gave up on mine. DICK 3M basically said to use the citrus based remover, which we know already didn't do the job. I contacted a local rv dealer, Avalon, and spoke with the body shop foreman. They just had finished doing a coach with the same problem. Well over 40 hours of labor and about a total of $4k and some painting necessary after removal. We will wait until spring and try it again ourselves. If all else fails, will put a breathable bra on the front and call it a day. Yikes!!!Re: Inverter Issue Ivylog wrote: Three years hooked to power and I'll bet you have not put any water in the house battery... YOU need a new deep cycle battery with caps where you can put water in every two months. I check the batteries routinely and have added water whenever needed. There hasn't been a time when the water level was too low. The cables have been lubricated with truck lube and there is NO corrosion on them whatsoever. Corrosion and low water are not issues here.Re: Inverter IssueI know the batteries are at least 3 yrs. old. That's how long we have had the coach. Bought it from a private party, so not sure of age. We keep the coach plugged in when it sits in storage which is pretty much most of the year except when we travel for a few months. When we get home next week will get the batteries checked out and go from there. THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR GOOD INPUT AND INFO!Inverter IssueOur inverter is not working right and I'm not expert on them. The system shows and charges ok that the battery is almost full. When we put anything on such as coffee maker, tv or whatever, it goes into an error mode and shows low battery start charge. When that happens nothing works not even the generator which really puzzles me. We left the campground and stopped at a rest area and first try the genset started. Next dry camp, same problem. No LED lite is lit on the inverter either. I have shut it down and restarted and all looks good until we try to put any load on it. This all started when we had the tv on for no more than an hour and everything went out and the error light came on and no genset start. Any thoughts, is our inverter shot??? Thanks, BobRe: Walmart koda55 wrote: If I remember correctly the Walmart in Elkins is about 12 miles west of I77. It is very hilly to get there. We stayed there one night. They have you park at the other end of the parking lot away from the store. There are a couple places to eat also. You might be thinking of another Elkins, maybe West Virginia. This Wally is right off the exit of I-77. I called them today and they were very welcoming and happy to have RV'ers stop and spend the night. We have done this many times before and we only stop to eat and sleep and never put out our slides. We've seen some real "campgrounds" set up in Walmart's with rv's parked around each other with slides out and folding chairs and grills set up. Talk about taking advantage of a good thing! Don't do something that gives the rv'ers a bad image.
