I purchased a Honeywell programmable model RTH2300/RTH221 for replacement. Wired it in and the furnace fired right up. Thanks for the heads up on the smell. This is my first new trailer and I wouldn't have known to "burn it in" before taking it out. Ready for the weekend. Thanks againRe: Furnace not working first time out.I bypassed the thermostat and the heater kicked on. I purchased a Honeywell programmable model RTH2300/RTH221 for replacement. Not sure of the wiring. I am going to storage to match wiring diagram of stock unit (2 wires) with new unit (multiple terminals). Has anyone done this type of replacement and can help? ThanksRe: Bumper storage box kevden wrote: [img] [/img] I mounted one of these bostitch (stanley) structural foam waterproof boxes using 1"x1" perforated steel tubing, steel angle, and some bolts. Looks similar to how mbopp has it mounted. I got the box at lowes, i think it is a 28" box. It is lightwieght and waterproof, and has held up to the sun and weather for about 5 years so far. I tried mounting it using aluminum to save wieght, but the aluminum tube broke the first year. I found the box you used. Here is how mine turned out. Thanks for the info. Re: LCD TV 12 volt power cordI shortened the cord from 10' to 3'. Need to get to storage to test it. If not I will try Radio Shack. I can't find a heavy duty one on the web. I'll post the results. Thanks everyone!Re: replace factory dvd/stereo in trailer Old-Biscuit wrote: Pull it then get whichever brand/model you like. Course depending on opening you might have to make it larger or get cover plate to install. Audio shops have LOTS of choices and installation options. I like Clarion and JVC brands I put a JVC in my last truck. I liked that unit. I put a Jensen in my current truck. It's OK. Both are double din DVD/ Stereo. Either one as well as many others would work. I was asking more about the fit in the cabinet face. I should have searched the internet first. I just found a bunch of them. They are referred as "wall mount" rv stereos. they look to be the same size as the cover plate on the stock one. So... has anyone replaced theirs with a recommended unit that is "wall mount". I am not looking to have anyone install it for me. I just want to find a good unit on the internet and install it myself. Thanks!replace factory dvd/stereo in trailerHas anyone replaced the factory DVD/stereo in their trailer? I am not impressed with the unit I have. (off brand, cant remember the make)It won't read my USB for music, there is a 3 second delay every time I try to change the volume, station or speakers and the sound is terrible(I know the speakers are to blame here.) I am thinking about replacing the unit but am not sure what the cut out in the cabinet is like. Will a double din automotive unit fit or will I have to make a custom cover plate? The cover for this unit is much larger than an automotive unit. I have never had one of these out so am unsure of the actual size. Does anyone have a recommendation for a replacement unit? I also would like to input my TV sound to it so I can play TV sound out the speakers. Not sure if the factory unit has audio in RCA or not. The trailer is in storage so my access to it is limited to weekend trips. Thanks in advance!Re: LCD TV 12 volt power cord mike-s wrote: Is this when watching a TV channel, or do you have another video device like a DVD player sourcing the video, and how is it connected? "Wavy lines" are not a symptom associated with a digital video issue. My guess is either you're using an analog connection (RCA jack - composite video), or the 12V power isn't steady and is effecting the backlight of the TV. If you're using composite video, change to an HDMI connection if possible. All I have is the RCA jacks coming from the Radio/DVD player (factory install) so HDMI is out of the question. I still think it is the power source.Re: LCD TV 12 volt power cord budwich wrote: OP, what is your input source? Depending on what it is, you might have a grounding issue. It does it with the DVD and with the air antenna. It is not the input source.Re: LCD TV 12 volt power cord mrbreeze az wrote: 98coachman wrote: A friend of mine had this exact thing happen. The 12 volt cord he purchased was too small and had to much resistance to make the tv work properly. He picked up a heavy duty 12 volt cord and end of problem. You may also try to shorten your cord as short as possible first to see if that helps. Good luck, Bill I am thinking this is the problem. I am trying to find out what cord will work. Is it 6 amp vs 3 amp? I thought I bought a 6 amp cord but maybe a 3 amp. It doesn't say on the cord. Can you find out what cord he bought?
