This would certainly fix the fogging problem but what are the pro and cons? Is it legal to use this type of material near the driver (safety comes to mind as it can not be broken by first responders). I think that if this were a viable option the RV manufacturers would have done it already, but maybe it is a cost thing as well. Thanks for your input.Re: Did you dump your refrigerator and pantry before crossing?I missed giving the Canada Border Services Web site that might also be of interest http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/fpa-apa/regs-eng.htmlRe: Did you dump your refrigerator and pantry before crossing?Rules, both ways change often. I have found crossing into the US stricter than crossing into Canada. Give the US border office were you plan on crossing a call a few days prior and find out what is the latest and greatest. US Border http://www.cbp.gov/contact/ports The Canadian Food Inspection Agency regulates what can be brought into Canada http://inspection.gc.ca/food/information-for-consumers/travellers/what-can-i-bring-into-canada-/eng/1389648337546/1389648516990 Generally I don't take fresh fruit or veggies into the US, any meat I bring I make sure is frozen. I make sure my pet food is in up-opened bags. Coming back to Canada has never been a problem. Hope this helpsSeeking recommendations - OntarioHi fellow RVers. We will be retiring in a few years and don't know where. Our ideal town would have 2000 - 10000 people, a grocery store, a hardware store, some basic medical services (Dr, dentist, pharmacy, not to far away from a veterinarian)an active involved welcoming community and a friendly watering hole that serves breakfast (no we don't (normally) drink alcohol with breakfast, but would like a place where we can get breakfast in the morning and a drink and a bite in the evening ;)) This summer will be our first foray into what we think is our target area; between HWY 7 and the 401, between Peterbourough-ish and Brockville-ish. We would like to spend about a week somewhere inside this box so that we can drive around to get an initial feel for a bit of the area. Can anyone recommend a place that can handle a 40 ft motorhome (prefer full hook-ups, but will give up on sewer)and allows pets (2 cats)? We don't need a lot of amenities and would prefer not to be right near the 401. Thanks in advance for all suggestions on camping (and perhaps on a community to move to).Re: Cats????Albertaguy: My heart goes out to you. Prior to purchasing our fist slide unit we read about a similar tragedy. We now alsways do a "Jinny check" (in her memory) and make sure the cats are secure before anything moves. To the original poster. Go through your unit with a flashlight and check everywhere (under beds, between slides, where closets meet walls, etc) for nooks and crannies where a cat can hide and close them up. It is amazing how a fat cat can squeeze into a tiny place. We "lost" our girl on a departure morning. After scouring the unit and campground for hours looking for her and debating our next move in tears she appeared out of the bedroom as if noithing was wrong. She had found a tiny openning between the bed and the night table that led to a small empty space and hide there. The openning now gets stuffed up as soon as we open that slide. The hardest part is what to do with that darn litter box. (we keep it in the shower stall (drain plugged of course) and shower door modified with a hook to keep it open when not travellig. On the more fun side. Our cats come out with us on thier leashes and really enjoy going on walks and meeting people. They are a great ice breaker.Advice wanted - Lake Placid/Saranac Lake areaHello Everyone: DH and I are planning a 2 - 3 week fall getaway to the Lake Placid/Saranac Lake area. We have never been there so need advice on where to stay and any must dos. We typically park in an area for a few days, check out the local sites then move on to another area. But if the campground is nice we could stay for a week or more and make day trips in the toad. We are into light bicycling and short easy walks. We have a 40ft class A and prefer to plug into shore power, but if you know of the perfect place to spend a night or two we would boondock. Also, we are coming down from the Ottawa Ontario area, so any route advice would also be greatly appreciated.
