All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Estes Park / Yellowstone / Grand Teton TripWe have traveled to all three of these locations and enjoyed them very much. Will you be towing a car? The reason I ask is that many of the sights, especially in Yellowstone are very limited as to access for Class A motorhomes. The roads in Yellowstone tend to be somewhat narrow and at the 'choke points'- any place animals have been spotted - the traffic flow is stop and go and single lane. Many of the turn-out areas are limited in size and maneuvering any motorhome, let alone a Class A is sketchy. Don't let these comments stop you from going to Yellowstone, just beware of the potential problems. Have fun.Re: soft pavementYou can do what I did for jack pads. I took a 12 foot long 2x12 and cut it into 12 one foot pieces. I then put a large screw eye in one edge of each pad and attached a three foot length of rope to each screw eye. Having 12 pads gives me the ability to arrange them to help level out uneven parking spaces. If the space is level I just use one pad under each jack. If the space is un-level to one side, I'll stack multiple pads on the low side so that I don't have to extend the jacks too far. It's an inexpensive way to build multiple jack pads instead of the paying an arm and a leg for the plastic pads. Also, if I ever bury one to the point I can't get it out off the ground it's no big deal.Re: Tire stuff -Mixed Spare tire- will it workFrank, I understand your thinking about buying a less expensive tire for your spare. You also state that you aren't sure that you will buy new Goodyear tires when time comes for replacement. Remember that RV tires typically "time" out before they "wear" out. Because of this, your spare will be aging away while it is in storage in your MH. True, if it isn't exposed to UV light and the elements it won't age as fast but you really don't want to get into a situation where you have tires of different age running on your rig. Because of this, I agree that you should go with a less expensive alternative to the GY RV670 for your spare. As I am unfamiliar with the brand of tire you mention, I can't say how they will hold up long term. You might want to check out other brands such as Hankook or similar as they can be considerably less expensive that GY yet they are well known and widely used for RVs and Big Rigs. I personally run Hankook A12s in 275/70/22.5 on my Class A. Great tires and much less expensive than GY...an no, I don't have a spare.Re: RV for SalePlease provide the details of your RV as someone on the forum may be interested in buying it.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???Vacuumed and swept the floors. Next, mopped the tile and steam cleaned the carpet. Looks better and smells fresh. Also cleaned bath fixtures. Now all we need is a chance to take a trip.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???Where do I start??? Took the RV to Premier Coach Services in Riverside, MO for oil change and to check out a leaking front driver's side oil bath bearing. They started on that and asked if I knew I was missing the covers on the two AC units. I said I didn't notice it when I picked up the rig from the storage lot...I never walked far enough away to see the AC. They also stated that the awning over the door was damaged. All this was evidently caused by one of the recent storms passing through the area. Net result, a $1400+ claim to my insurance company. As far as the leaking oil bath wheel bearing, it was REALLY leaking - had to replace bearings, races, and seals. Also had to clean and adjust brakes. Also had the shop verify my thought that I needed rear tires. Decided to replace all six tires. Switched from 235/80R22.5 to 255/70R22.5 size. After checking half dozen local shops and unknown number of online tire stores, settled on Hankook A12 with DynaBeads from local Shore Tires. $2069 total...not too bad considering I had quotes of over $4000+ for GoodYears and $3800+ for Michelins. All in all a costly week, but we should be good to go. One last thing...the weather calls for strong winds, hail, and thunderstorms. Hopefully we won't have any more damage. Planning a trip in a week. Hope to see you on the road.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???Winterization done, everything removed, put it back in the storage lot...Boy spring is a long way off. Might take it out for a weekend or two but no longer trips planned.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???I'm sure that many will find this a simple question, but I have never heard where I can get the US map that shows to what states one has traveled. Also, how do you add it to your signature line. Thanks in advance.Re: What did you do to your Class A MH today???Had the chassis A/C serviced again...O rings replaced as well as the condensor fan. Completed installation of the new LED LCD front TV - actually last weekend. ________________________________________________ GrandpaLarry777 and my MUCH younger wife Mary 1998 Holiday Rambler Endeavor DP Usually towing a three-horse trailerRe: What did you do to your Class A MH today???Had the transmission fluid and filter changed.
