I wouldn't use Canvak on a trailer. It does work great on canvas tents.Re: Trailer tire issues? busterbrown73 wrote: If a failure happens and damage (and/or injury) occurs, you can prove it to law enforcement that you asked here first before commencement of your cross country move and you'll be free and clear of any fault. I'm pretty sure that a trailer with a 7,000 lb GVWR was engineered to those specs, not over. Especially in the day and age of lite weights where materials are minimalistic at best. :hRe: Help! Durango/Silverton/Telluride- UTV and 2 wheelers?I am from Colorado and I am in law enforcement. Anything registered as an Off Highway Vehicle is not allowed on the roads in Colorado. This obviously includes paved roads but also gravel county roads posted as NO OHV. The UTV is fine on the trails as long as the area is not posted as 50 inch wide or less. My prime hunting area is 50 inch or less so I am limited to an ATV. Colorado requires an OHV permit for out of state OHVs. Check before you head out to see what restrictions the area has in place. http://www.staythetrail.org/index.php?option=com_k2&view=itemlist&layout=category&task=category&id=6&Itemid=155Re: Snowbirding with a popupWe dry camp in the Colorado Rockies in our pop-up starting in May. At night, the temps get down in the low 30's. We don't run heat at night and we don't run the generator for the electric mattresses. The few times I have used the heat at night when the temps go into the 20's, the furnace almost never shuts off. I run the heat just to keep the water pipes from freezing at night. The heat just won't stay in the camper. We use good sleeping bags and I crank the heat on in the morning to make it easier to get out of bed in the cold. The daytime temps in May are in the 50's and 60's. It is worth putting up with a few hours of cold at night for the perfect daytime temps. LarryRe: Towing speeds with leveling / sway bar set up?You save time by not stopping as much, making quicker fuel stops, and quicker meal stops. The time difference between 65mph and 75mph over a distance is minimal. 300 miles at 75mph is 4 hours. 300 miles at 70mph is 4 hours and 29 minutes. 300 miles at 65mph is 4 hours and 36 minutes.Re: 13 year old trailer tires..Good grief, 13 years on tires and grease! It is no wonder I see so many trailers parked along the highway. Glad you made it this far. LarryRe: This is a reason why Pop Ups aren't selling......My Rockwood HW316TH pop up camper was "on sale" in Denver, Colorado for $18,999, from the MSRP of $21,999. I told the salesman that it wasn't worth even near that amount. I found one in Iowa for $12,300 for the exact same camper. I bought it the next week. I had a friend in the business that told me that MSRP is double what the dealer paid for the trailer.
