I'm the 2nd owner of a 2015 Winnebago Vista 27n on a Ford 2014 18k chassis. I purchased it a thousand miles from home back in July with less than 7k miles. The drive home was good other than a reverberating noise that I thought was wind turbulence produced by the mirrors deflecting air against the side windows, aged out tires out of balance out of round, etc. The coach had the original tires on it, too, so I tried not to be to critical until I got it home and had new tires installed as well as an alignment. Well that's all done now and I still have the obnoxious reverberation. Yes, its like someone pounding on a glass window. It comes on goes at times but overall is pretty constant above 50 mph. Today is only our third trip with the coach. The first two were only 1 hour drives in which 30 minutes were highway. Today was a 4 hour trip mostly highway. So today I walked around inside the coach while the other half was driving. I do NOT think the issue is what I originally thought! We don't experience vibration at our feet in the cab area or in the steering wheel. Nor do I notice the vibration in the rear even standing right over the rear axle. I first noticed our cat shaking while riding on the sofa which prompted to get up. Right when I got about 5 feet behind the cab area is when I felt the vibration shaking the sofa and even the sink cabinet across from the sofa. So again, I walked to the rear of the coach and stood right over the rear axle and no vibration. It's strictly in the middle. So once parked, I looked underneath and I can see a drive shaft joint and frame mount right in the vicinity of where I felt the vibration. Does this sound like anything anyone else has experienced? Could I have a drive shaft issue? It's really obnoxious and makes an otherwise nice drive a bit annoying. Thanks in advance.Re: King pin lockI have owned a fifth wheel for over 14 years. Ten of those it was in a storage lot. I never used one and never worried about it. If it makes you feel comfortable, get one.Re: RV furnitureSkip the "RV" furniture. Extremely overpriced and quality is nothing to write home about. We replaced our recliners in our LS fiver immediately with theater seating upholstered in cloth. We got it at Wayfair for $700. Sofa will be more difficult due to the depth of most sofas. That was a challenge but we found one.Re: Value of used RVNADA is generally high. Certain types and/or makes don't stay on the market especially if priced correctly. I have a friend with a beautiful, pristine 7 year old high-end fiver for sale and has it priced under nada and has not had any offer and only 4 inquiries in 10 weeks. I think a lot is price and brand driven as well as geographic regions, too. RVTrader seems to be the best place with the most exposure. Price it fair, describe it accurately, and also look at the competition and their prices. Good luck.Re: Tire lifeI replaced my 17.5 GY G114's last May that were produced late 2014 strictly due to age. They had about 22k miles on them and looked like new. I just didn't want to chance it based on the "age-out" theories.Re: Picking a new rigIf you are looking at mid profile rigs check out the KZ Half Ton fivers. Bedrooms are a bit lacking but they have a lot of other nice features.Re: Best Built 5er?There's nothing special about a Tiffin fiver. They are designed no differently than the others. Even their "high-end" Beacon has the same two inch sidewall thickness. At least with Riverstone and DRV you get thicker sidewalls. Many things one would expect to be standard on a unit of that price point are optional. Pretty to look at but no better to live with.Re: Alliance 5th Wheels lcseds wrote: My wife and I drove four hours round trip to look at an Alliance. Wish I had my gas money back.... Nothing special at all. As mentioned, the AC is not ducted. Look at some pics on line. Same AC in the living area as I have in my cheap TT. And if you look at them in person you will find more WTH items. The kool-aid is strong with this brand. But dig a little, and it's the same old s***. I totally agree. I'd say they same about Vanleigh.Re: How to calculate distributed pin weight?I can't believe that "grocery hauler" F-150 can't tow that without a dolly. LOLRe: Furrion A/C ? It is rated at 14,500 BTUH and others are rated at 15,000 BTUH, unless they are comparing it to a much smaller unit. Next the manure about a single fan unit....it has two fans like they all require. One for the chilled air and one for the condenser air. Most units use a single, double ended fan motor. Our Coleman Mach 8 Plus has two separate fan motors. The website is a lot of smoke and mirrors. Ken I thought the same thing. That is why I posted the info. You know how RV industry love to sell fluff and the American consumer buys right into a lot of it.
