Myself and a friend got down on our hands and knees and searched every inch of the roof and cant find the leak. I checked all of the regular places like the seams and edges and all of the areas around the vents in the area. Yesterday I gave in and put a new coat of roof sealer on the entire top and went back this morning and applied a second coat. I'm hoping it's fixed but I sure would like to know where the leak is is coming from. Any ideas of where else I might have overlooked?Re: Air conditioner cut-off? When your A/C is running, the compressor causes the coils to get cold on one side, possibly causing a build up of frost, and heat on the other side. The fan not only circulates the air but defrosts the cold coils and cools the hot side. The fan needs to run all the time to avoid problems. You could try turning the fan speed down, but keep in mind that you may then have problems with the coils freezing up, especially in humid weather. Do the fans on ducted air conditioners run all the time as well? I thought they shut off like a home unit. Also, can standard non-ducted air conditioners be set up to run off of a wall thermostat? The fan stays on even for the units that are ducted. It does not function like home. I have a Dometic AC with a wall mounted T-Stat and it shuts off completely when it hits the set-point (just ike our home AC). Is it a non ducted unit? If so, can you give me the model number. ThanksRe: Air conditioner cut-off? Fishinghat wrote: No, I don't know of any A/C that turns the fan off. Does anyone know of an add on you can get to have it cut off at temp? My compressor cuts off but the fan still stays on. I wouldn't mind except it's right over the sleeping area and is quite noisy.Re: Shades for cab side windows? Hank85713 wrote: depends on what you mean by shades. Do you want to use these to block the side windows when parked or what? I got a cheap $1 store windshield cover cut it in 1/2 and then put small suction cups on it to hold in place and I use it to cover the side windows of the cab when parked. The things fit the entire window. I also use a big windshield cover for the front so its easy to close everything off, have solar protection and not spend a fortune on the covers. I bought one of the windshield and side covers from CW but its a PIA to install and remove and store. I think dollar tree and other 99cent stores have those things like the other poster shared, just havent used them. I had thought of making my own but it surprises me with so many Class C motorhomes on Ford Chassis that someone doesn't make a custom set.Guess it's to the dollar store for me.Shades for cab side windows?I'm having a problem finding shades for my cab side windows. everybody has them for the windshield but not for the side windows. Any suggestions?Awning replacement locking knobs? Both of the locking knobs on my MH were frozen up so I followed the instructions from other posts here and cut them off, used CRC on them and removed the old studs. When I got them out, I found that the nutswere stripped and needed to be replaced as well but can't find info anywhere on how to get the old nut out and the new one in. The nut falls to the bottom but I can't get it out because of the latching assembly at the bottom of the support arm. Suggestions?Re: OTA TV connections SCVJeff wrote: I'm not gonna beat up your decision, but as long as you realize before it's too late to exchange, that ANY omnidirectional won't perform anywhere close to the previous antenna. If you are in an urban area with good coverage then great. But omni's just don't perform out in the boonies I do realize that. This motorhome will probably not make it out of FL as we bought it to see if we like the lifestyle before buying a new one and being older, we will be using urban parks so we should be fine. Thanks for the response.Re: OTA TV connections Old-Biscuit wrote: Winegard crank-up antenna connects to cable in RV roof.....that cable goes to the Wall Plate. Cable connection on outside of rig is 'cable' connection. That cable also goes to Wall Plate. Wall Plate has 12V DC power to it from Fused DC Dist Panel. 12V DC powers 'cigarette lighter' for 12V DC TV. Also supplies DC power for amplifier in antenna head......via ON/OFF switch. When using antenna switch ON When using 'cable' switch OFF Winegard perfect explanation. Now I know what I'm looking for above the wall plate.Re: OTA TV connections YC 1 wrote: Old Biscuit explained it but can you tell us what antenna you bought? If you bought a Jack for example it is a direct plug and play head. I think it is anyway!
