Had a very interesting conversation with an IRS manager at a recent SKP rally. According to him, the magic number after all the calculations on 8840 is 132 days. He advised us to fill out the form & by all means send it in to the IRS but anyone with less than 132 days as a final number will not be flagged. As our number over the three years is much less that 132 he advised to fill out the forms & carry them with our passports. Recently got my new Tom Tom Go 600, It failed within 2 weeks. They sent me a new one, it also failed after two weeks. Tom Tom support had it up & running in two minutes on the phone. I am having a lot of problems getting the routes to go where I want them, not where the unit wants me to go. To put a way point in the middle of the route I must re-enter the whole route, in the proper order. Seems Tom Tom is developing this model on the fly as problems arise. We stayed at Silver Palms for the months of Jan. & Feb. this year. Great resort if you pay full price & lot of activities. Those who took advantage of the monthly special were often shuffled around & put in unfinished sites. Also beware of the constant bickering between site owners & resort management. The advice above is "right on". We purchased our 2004 Newmar Dutchstar in 2007 & as the C$ was at par, saved a bundle. A dealer just outside of Ottawa had a similar model, more than three time the miles, in poorer condition & a 100 grand higher in price. The US dealer in Florida took care of all the paperwork. PST & GST on the invoice price. Well worth the time & effort. Hey Dave from Ontario. I found a local truck service centre that does a complete, annual bumper to bumper inspection & service for about $360.00 including all fluids & filters for both my 370 ISL & Onan generator. I figure it's worth every penny after seeing a few breakdowns on the road heading to Florida in the fall. Not a pretty sight. Bill157Views0likes0Comments
