All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsNo power to thermostatOn our last trip we noticed that the thermostat wouldn't come on, so we didn't have AC or heat. Now I'm finally getting around to looking at it and I was expecting a blown fuse or something somewhere. All fuses in the panel are good including the one in the thermostat. I was hoping to find a fuse somewhere on the Coleman Mach roof unit, but no luck there. I hooked up a spare thermostat to rule that out and the AC still won't kick on. I'm thinking it may be the circuit board. Any other ideas??? Thanks MarkRe: How we added a whiteboard to our fridge turbojimmy wrote: Thanks again for the idea. I finally got around to modding my fridge. I went with chalkboard instead of whiteboard. I got some cool neon markers as well as traditional chalky-white markers. No chalk dust! And it comes off easy. The panels come in 2' x 4' sections, and the stupid fridge is like 24 1/2" wide. I was able to fit it within the door channels, though. Looks so much better than the 1984 wallpaper that was on the doors. Where'd you pickup the chalk board panels?Re: Water proof sealant esox07 wrote: I have seen a lot of posts that advised specifically against using silicone to seal trailers. And that is why they make specific stuff just for RV's. It could just be a marketing ploy to charge $10 for a tube of sealant instead of $3, but most of the online stuff suggests otherwise. One of the biggest issues with silicone is that nothing, including silicone, will stick to it. When you need to reseal what will eventually need to be resealed you're in for a rough job.Re: replacing rear scissor jacks JBarca wrote: kansas49er wrote: I am wondering if there is something else that I could use, like perhaps some sort of jackstand that was removable when towing down the road. Any ideas? Anyone? I have heard of these, never bought one or seen one in person http://stores.saveajack.com/ I see them for sale on RV Upgrades. https://www.rvupgradestore.com/Save-A-Jack-p/saj-u.htm This method allows you to reuse your existing jack and convert it to a removable base. Hope this helps John I installed these a few years ago and love them! https://youtu.be/vBhRKmNNfZURe: Anyone use OnStar with the 4g hotspot? Thanks for all the info!!! I'll take a look at the Mobley now. As for the other OnStar services, I doubt I'll use themAnyone use OnStar with the 4g hotspot? We just picked up a Chevy van and activated the trial of OnStar which included 3gb of data. The OnStar service itself doesn't seem that useful with all the smart phones we have, but the hot spot may be nice. The only issue is it looks like the van needs to be on for the hot spot to be active. Thoughts? Experiences?Re: Water proof sealant esox07 wrote: I have some Proflex RV on order from Campingworld.com. However, after watching a few youtube videos, it looks like I also need Butyl tape. Or does the Proflex substitute for the Butyl tape? I have the corrugated siding on my RV so the surface is not nice and flat which makes me think that I would probably need the Butyl tape to fill in the low ridges on the siding. This is a video that looks like my situation and how I will attack my window. Let me know if I am on the right track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=belS_95xLcA That's my video, so I'd do the same thing;) I haven't had any issues sealing windows that way & use Proflex over the butyl for an extra layer of protection. I use a double layer of buyyl on the sides to make sure the profile in the siding fills and it compresses all the way around the window frame.Re: Wow! I'm learning a lot. 420RVfun wrote: How do I know what thickness of butyl tape to use? Windows? Corner seams under corner molding? Making progress slowly now that the weather allows for working outside again. I use 3/4"x1/8" for everything. If I need it thicker or wider I add to it. Keep at it...it'll all start going back together soon enough. Every time I started one problem I found a new one, so I kept digging until I couldn't find more issues. That meant new roof, walls, joists, rafters, etc. It was all worth it though.Re: Problem with new trailer, or is it the grandson?Tar the bottom few rungs so he sticks before he gets too high;)Re: Taken all the steps to prevent sway. Still swaying. Help! coolmom42 wrote: Check all your weights.... there are lots of posts here on how to do that. You could be tongue-light, regardless of how you load the trailer. My next thought is that there is a problem with axle or wheel alignment. With that size trailer make sure you have the right size bar, and use 2 of them. You might consider upgrading to something like an Equalizer or Blue Ox Sway Pro hitch. I agree, I'd get weighed and see how much you have on the tongue. We did an axle flip on ours and haven't had any issues, but if you're out of alignment that would cause you some grief for sure. Something to look at for sure. If you determine weight isn't the cause I'd flip them back and take it for a test drive to see if you're still having issues.
