The general population does not favor any new taxes or use fees but complains because cut backs are being put in place. Maybe many in the 'general public' know the inefficiency and waste in general government and the BLM. Perhaps they should have saved some of the money expended on the excessive and abusive response to the "Bundy" cattle grazing issue. Increasing taxes has never increased public access any government lands or agency.Re: Smart Light 1000 Motion sensor lightNews to me. I never know I was only suppose to use the scare light sparingly. Been know to leave mine on all night.Re: SACRIFICIAL ANODE, other than the hot water heater ?It generally gets replaced with installation of the new water heater. You know, the old that began to leak!:)Re: Suburban Anode ReplacementLike others have said the threads will make contact with tape or dope. Also remember the head of anode rod is making contact as well once you have screwed it into place.Re: Boondocking east of Mammoth Lakes in winter??You might try the below two sites. These people have just been caravaning down 395 and boondocking in that area. http://www.wheelingit.us/ http://www.technomadia.com/Re: work campers/permanents/long termWife and I managed an RV park for two years. Yes, we were workcampers. Also had many work campers who stayed long term in the park. Like others have said it is up to the Park management and/or owners to keep all area presentable. The park we managed the owner had one area near the office set aside for nightly and weekly stays. The rest of the site were all long term. Anywhere from a few months to several years. More importantly we were very strict on keeping the sites picked up and not have external storage facilities set up on the sites. Even to the point that we did not allow skirting on the RV, not even during the winter months. The reason was simple. Some people will buy and use nice skirting, other want to use hay bales, planks of plywood and who knows what else they might come up with. Also skirting seems to encourage people to begin using the area under the trailer for storage of any variety of junk. We did on rare occasion have some one leave as a result of no skirting. On the other hand because of our consciences efforts we were always rate 9's and 10's by the Good Sam folks.Re: Unlimited streaming wifi?? We also have the low GB VERIZON MIFI PLAN but only use it for checking emails, keeping in touch with the kids, and paying some bills on-line. The MILLENICOM used to cost around $80 a month but may have just recently gone up a few dollars. Mobile HOTSPOTS and Mobile INTERNET is becoming the way to go these days. We would definitely look at the MILLENICOM NETWORK if we started to do some serious downstreaming. ALot of folks like the VERIZON JETPACK package as well for larger database plans. We get by just fine now using the OTA BATWING antenna picking up the digital HDTV from the NATIONAL BROADCAST network being transmitted from the local towns where we camp. TV signals are full blown high def and are free to view... Roy Ken FWIW with new Millenicom plan (by the way change forced by Verizon) price increase of May 1, you will now also be able to get an additional 20GB on the same device. Thus allowing up to 40GB per month. Of course you will pay an additional $90 for the additional gigabytes. Previously you had to buy a second device to get more than 20GB.Re: Self PRESSURIZING Oxygenics shower head - any good?We have a Oxygenic and like it. As for water pressure, we handle that by using a whole house water pressure regulator. Same as those used on S&B with just the addition of hose connections. Why? Well they will give a much better flow under any pressure. It is flow that gives you the nice shower, not pressure. A house regulator will flow 6 to 9 GPM. The standard RV regulator will flow 2 to 3 GPM. Got this from a plumber and saw confirmation at www.rvwaterfilterstore.com. Have great showers!Re: What's up with Rotochok?I bought mine after Pearle had passed. Had no problems with ordering or service. Still that was some 18 months ago. So who knows what had occurred in the intervening time.Re: SD vs TX residencyWhen we went full time several years ago we choose SD because, 1. We were buying a new fifth wheel and 3% versus 7% sales tax. 2. No income tax in SD just like Tx. 3. Insurance is lower for both auto and medical. At the time SD was number 48 out 50 for cost of medical insurance. 4. No special license requirement and truck and trailer registration and license lower in SD. 5. Had located a good mail service which also handles our license and registration renewals without require us to travel to SD.
