Didn't come with ground wire but manufacturer recommended 10 AWG. Just not sure where/how to ground it to TT. Thanks for any info. https://www.amazon.com/KRI%C3%8BGER-Installation-appliances-According-Standards/dp/B07MF4GD1P/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=krieger+2000w&qid=1621047161&sr=8-2Re: Running Inverter Generator Safely From PickupFirst off I think I am definitely going to get a second (and maybe third) CO alarm in addition to the one that is built into my trailer. pitch wrote: I run our Hondas regularly from the bed of my truck. I drop the tail gate start the generators, spin them so the exhaust faces out. The tonneau cover stays in place one fold open, depending on expected weather,if rain is expected I leave it flat. I have a trifold. I have set my extended run tank on top of the cover. This is for overnites only so I normally do not unhook the trailer. Once set up in our spot the generators sit on a piece of plywood on the ground. By spin them out do you mean blowing perpendicular to the truck as in not towards the hitch and not towards the cab?. Say wut? Generator won't melt if it gets wet. Why on earth would you direct the exhaust back into the enclosed truck bed making the bed all stinky and hot? Do you think it's going to trap the exhaust and keep it from getting out? Point generator exhaust away from the truck bed and if you smell exhaust in the camper, it's not working, get a longer extension cord. I felt this wasn't a good idea but read about others doing this so just wanted to ask. In regards to the rain I have read about people using it exposed to the rain and others covering it up so not sure what the exact protocol is.Re: Adding 12V outlet questions (did I do it right)Thank you so much for all the responses. Will definitely go about using higher gauge wires and going straight to the battery. Any recommendations on products and/or any guides to help me. Can probably figure out on own but if any of you have any references that would be great. One response said: Put inverter in compartment NEXT to batteries (not same air space). Both batteries are on the tongue so where would I put the inverter (maybe under master bed which is also the pass through storage area)?Running Inverter Generator Safely From PickupI have a Predator 3500 generator and want to make sure that some/all of these situations are safe for running the generator from the back up my pickup. Thanks for any responses. Basically I want to park my truck a few feet in front of the trailer (back of truck facing front of trailer) and run generator from truck bed with or without rain. 1. Trailer parked right behind back of truck (feet few behind), tailgate down, tonneau cover up, generator on tailgate with exhaust pointing towards side of truck (perpendicular to truck)? 2. Trailer parked right behind back of truck (feet few behind), tailgate down, tonneau cover up, generator on tailgate with exhaust pointing towards cab of truck (no one is inside truck)? 3. Trailer parked right behind back of truck (few feet behind), tailgate down, tonneau cover down (if it's raining), generator in bed of truck (just inside of tailgate) with exhaust facing the cab of the truck (no one is inside truck)? This would be the rain setup.Adding 12V outlet questions (did I do it right)My TT doesn't have a 12V outlet so I decided to add one. I have two 12V deep cycle batteries connected in parallel. I decided to wire the DC outlet off of one of the LED lights. Everything is getting power. The DC outlet I purchased is below. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01B79F8CW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Question I have is can I set up a pure sine inverter with this outlet? Also if so how large of an inverter can I do (how much can I have plugged into the inverter) without blowing anything. Also if I add another 12V outlet to the front of the camper, the one I just installed is in the back of the camper, is there any benefit to wiring off a light vs water pump vs battery? Thanks for all your help.Re: winterizing unit (picture of water heater)Thank you all for the info. I feel much more informed now about my plumbing system.Re: winterizing unit (picture of water heater) Camper8251 wrote: this cool thing called Google found your owners manual....... https://starcraftrv.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/2016-Autumn-Ridge.pdf Since I don't have that trailer, Google obviously didn't work for you. I downloaded the manual for my trailer. However, it's written for tons of different trailers so the information isn't very specific.Re: winterizing unit (picture of water heater) Beverley&Ken wrote: That white 'nut' is actually a nylon drain plug, use a 1" socket to remove, then open the pressure relief valve and it will drain the water heater. Important have city water disconnected/turned off and water pump turned off as well as turning off the heater controls, gas and electric (if equipped). Also water temp should be cool. Bypassing the heater for winterization is done on the inside of the RV, behind the heater. One or three valve system. Ken If you don't relieve the pressure, before removing the plug, you will have an unexpected shower. plus the plug comes out much easier. Is turning off the heater from the control switches (next to water pump) enough or do I have to turn off the breaker. Also curious where in my picture is the pressure relief (I know some people said hot faucet is enough but curious).Re: winterizing unit (picture of water heater)Thanks for all the info. Wasn't aware that my trailer had the bypass already installed and is accessed from under the bunk. Here is a pick of the inside (just wanted to be 100 percent sure which valves are which for bypassing for the winter. winterizing unit (picture of water heater) 2016 Starcraft ar one maxx 19bhle Opened side panel outside and found this. Want to winterize but doesn't look anything like other heaters I have seen online or in videos. The backside is under the bunk. Not sure if I need to remove that part to access the rest.
