All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Keep spices dryI put small amounts of spices that aren't used often in small zip lock bags. The kind beads would come in. Then I keep them in a basket that a sleeve of crackers would fit in. I slip the whole basket into a gallon size zip lock bag.Re: Campfire meals for kids ~ Ideas please :)Buy some dowels that are about 1" thick. At least as thick as a hot dog. You could wrap the part going over the fire with non stick foil or spray with Pam. Wrap the dowel with your choice of canned biscuit dough and cook over fire. In the mean time have hot dogs hot in water or fry in a skillet or cook over the fire. When the dough is cooked, slip it off the dowel and slip a hot dog in the hole. You should beable to buy pie irons at WalMart. There use to be a web site at pieirons.com with recipies.Re: Which do you preferI use liquid Cascade and lots of water. No ordo.Re: Clearing slide-out roof before leaving campI clean our slide out every time we retrack it. I clean it from the inside. I take a long handle duster (cheapy one works fine). Take two cloth type paper towels and lay them flat. Put the duster over them and wrap the towel and fasten in about three or four places with masking tape to hold tight. Some times I even have to tape the inside of the place where it tears. Then I lightly spray the whole thing with Endust. I then wipe the slide out from the inside. I do have to get on one side of the bed and DH lets the slide out for me to get there and then he brings the slide in for me to wipe. You'll be surprised how dirty the paper towel will be. The slide in the living/kitchen area is tight but I can get the duster in there. After a rain storm this also helps dry the slide too.Re: Grape saladA topping I make for grapes or any kind of fruit is: Plain f/f yogurt Carnation Powdered Dry Milk Vanilla Splenda Brown or Brown Sugar Mix all together For each cup of yogurt add 1 tabl, of the dry milk powder. This will cut the tart taste of the yogurtRe: Replacement for very old unusable Crock PotI'd go garage sale shopping for an older crock. I have 4 pots including a 1 1/2 size that I really like. The others are newer and like someone said on low they are too hot and food/soups burn.Re: Slide coming out while travelingGlad you solved your problem. We had a slide start to come out while driving down the road in a 5th wheel we owned. We found that in the box where the in and out button was, a screw that didn't belong to anything was rolling around. Scary.Re: Translation Tables for Convection/Microwave Cooking?I have a Sharp convection oven in our motor home and I use it like a regular oven that I have at home. 1. Preheat. Hit the preheat button and put in the temperature you want. Hit Start and wait for it to preheat. If I remember correctly you can hear it when it is heated. 2. once heated Hit Convec and put the temperature in again, set the timer, put your food in the oven on the rack and hit start. Now if you are say baking cookies or muffins and need to bake a second batch you will have to Hit Convec again, put the temperature in again, set the timer again and then hit start. I don't lower the temperature for the convection oven but I do shorten the baking time maybe by 5 minutes for something baking 30 min. according to the recipe.Re: Weight Watcher RecipesI would say 1 hour at 350 degrees in oven. I made a cooked gr. beef, onion on top of shredded cabbage, topped with a can of tomato sauce (small can) and a can of tomato soup for supper to night and that was how long the recipe said to cook it.
