There is also www.bookcrossing.com you just have to see if anyone has released a book near where you are.Re: Coleman lantern -- white gas?Interesting.....while out on a run this morning I noticed the marquee at a neighborhood gas station states "Clear Unleaded Now Available". Wonder how that relates to "white" gas?Re: Unusual places you have stayed the night. The first night after we'd bought our TT we pulled up in front of house and slept in it that night(in January). Since it was still in the street we couldn't even put the slide out. The first night after it was de-winterized we pulled it into the driveway and slept in it. It started sleeting then snowing ( in April) early the next morning. It didn't occur to us until it was too late that when you bring the slide in, all that slush on top the slide comes in with it. At least we knew after these first two "camp outs" that the furnace works like a charm!Re: 5 things we don't love about our RVWhen we went shopping for our camper last year I knew pretty much what I wanted and what I did not want. Couldn't believe it when we went to look and found one that pretty much ticked all the boxes. After the first year there's just one thing I'd change my mind on. I'd like a couple easy chairs to sit in when watching tv as the jack knife sofa isn't that comfortable. But...because I want the jack knife sofa too and there isn't room to have both in the size of camper our truck can tow, I'll live with what I've got. I haven't found a floor plan I like in any of the new campers we've walked through anyhow. I also wish the storage compartment doors were taller. We have to lay items on their side to get them in, then stand them upright. Not a big deal just a nuisance.Re: Coleman lantern -- white gas?We have both gas and propane lanterns. The gas lanterns were the ones my family used when tent camping when I was growing up. I can't get them lit anymore so I bought a propane one to use until I can find someone to clean/repair the gas ones. We also have a Gold 2-burner Coleman gas stove from my younger days and we use it every time we camp. We also use a small tabletop propane grill. Yes, propane is much easier but I have such strong, wonderful memories with the gas items I can't bear to part with them. Makes me feel like I'm 8 years old again camping with my folks(who are now both deceased). The best times of my life were those summers! What do you use as a Toolbox in your camper? What do you use as a toolbox that you keep in/with your camper? Something that holds/organizes stuff like screwdrivers/hammer/pliers/spare bulbs/fuses/etc, that doesn't take up a lot of room in the pass through storage areas and that is heavy duty plastic so it won't rust if it gets wet?Re: Dewinterized, Got down to 22 degrees, Problems? We're in the same boat as well. Had the TT dewinterized Friday and parked it in out driveway to get it cleaned up and stocked. Saturday it got to almost 80 degrees. Had just a little more to done when we woke up Sunday. The weather got worse and worse and our forecasted "slight chance of wintery mix" turned into a full blown blizzard. We pulled in the slide before it got too much ice on it and left the furnace on low. Supposed to pull it back to the storage lot today after work but since it's going to be below 30 tonight again we may have to wait another day so we can keep it hooked up to electricity and keep the furnace on.Re: Drill Bit Guide LynnandCarol wrote: I used to have a drill bit guide (not sure if this is the correct nomenclature), but it has gone missing. The guide had holes that you could place the bit to determine the size. I have 50-60 drill bits and would like to go through them and downsize by getting rid of duplicates. Does anyone first know what I am talking about, and secondly know where I can purchase one. A plastic one would work as my old one was metal! Thanks In Advance! I'm no help in answering your question but I just have to say I'm impressed with your vocabulary! I haven't seen or heard the word "Nomenclature" ever used outside of my workplace. Any chance you are/were involved in the healthcare or insurance business? :)Re: Barbecue + beer: Is it ok in every RV camp ? sayoung wrote: dodge guy wrote: I see everyone recommends the red solo cup idea. while good, it just screams "hey I have beer in my cup" especially if an adult has one. I use a coffee mug with a top. no one has any idea! and it is insulated to keep it cold! They also come in blue, green,& yellow. In my area its usually thought of as an "ice tea "glass In my area they're referred to as Keg cups since they come with the keg when you pick it up.Re: well....darnDon't count on winters end yet. Forecast in Nebraska is for 2-6" of SNOW Thursday and Friday. Mother Nature is off her meds again cuz it was a beautiful 70+ on Monday.
