Mine is a 2017 and the batteries are located under the 2nd step as you enter the camper......Re: ATV Muffler on Genset?Onan makes a resonator....Goes inline with the exhaust....About $40 as I recall......There are YouTube video's as well comparing noise levels with/without the resonator...... I put one on my Onan 2500 LP and it did make a difference..Not much but a difference..Seemed to change the frequency of the noise and made it almost tolerable......Noise from the generator is my biggest complaint ......Re: Alaska adviceWe did it 2x, once about 9 yrs ago by motorcycle and in 2019 by TC....Both times the Alaska Ferry System, which we boarded in Bellingham....Got a cabin both times...You cannot stay in your RV..On the motorcycle we got off in Skagway, in the TC we got off in Haines....No customs, they do not stop at a Canadian port....Not cheap but was a way to break up the trip and see some sights from the water. I highly highly recommend it.....Re: I got my new gas light. The older I get the more I like old stuff......I understand your motivation Specta......Turn it up on a cold morning and enjoy.....Re: Pure sine wave inverter suggestions? From experience----Had a MSW 500 watt inverter in the garage..Wife wanted an electric blanket in the TC....Hooked it up and within a very short time the blanket controller started to smell just exactly like burning electrical....! Bought a 500 watt PSW, hooked up the same electric blanket and has worked fine for over 3 yrs..We do a lot of winter camping.... PSW for me.....The smell of burning electrical in the TC irritates me....Pretty good service from GSI have had GS Roadside Assist since 2009......Every year I have contemplated cancelling and going to Coach Net due to the reviews and stories of poor service..... Few days ago wife had a flat tire in her car in a suburb of San Diego (Fallbrook).....She called GS and got good service.....Est for a tow truck to be there in 30 mins.....Over that 30 mins GS called back 2x and texted 3x with updates......Wife was not in a secluded, dangerous place...Broad daylight in front of a large business complex.....So no real danger, just good service.....Truck arrived, changed to the spare and all was fine...... I have used GS Roadside Assist 3x since 2009...Every time it was fine....I understand the difficulties experienced by others and do not negate those.....I do not at all like GS or CW, esp the CEO....But my experience recently was just fine....Credit where it is due......Re: Has Truck Camper Magazine Ceased to Exist ?11 articles since March 1st...So they are still going strong...... Go to their website and hit the "features" icon for "latest content"...should come up......Re: you like Torklift StableLoads? / Upper, lower or BOTH?I agree with Bedlam--I would load it up and see what you have....I did that on the TC in my sig in 2016 and it was instantly obvious I needed something..... My progression was: 1. Timbren's...did nothing, took them off..... 2. Upper and lower stableloads..... 3. Air bags (7500 lb bags)..... After the above, which I did over 5-6 trips and about 3K miles, I got it dialed in just fine.....That was 3 yrs ago, 30k miles, and all is still fine......Every rig is different depending on loading, total weight, etc.... One note: I did the homemade stableloads route.....A lot on the internet about it as well as the Lance Owners site........After 3 yrs/30K miles, they are still in place, doing the job and holding up well......Just a thought to save some money if necessary.....Chicago O'Hare to south Bend, INHave to leave the RV at home and do a quick trip to South Bend....flying into O'Hare, renting a car and driving to South Bend.... Arriving at 6PM on a Thursday, will prob get out of the airport area at 7PM..... What is the best way to get to South Bend, around/through Chicago, totally unfamiliar with the area.....Have to consider traffic, etc......Re: Interstate 5 or Hwy 99 through CalifFlyboy--- Good suggestion.....I would love to go up 395 all the way...But--I cannot leave until June 1st and we catch the ferry June 7th in Bellingham.....I am afraid that if I started up 395, a road that, you are right, is terrific, I would miss the ferry by 2 weeks..Too many nice places to stop.....So I am pretty much stuck on 5 out of Sacramento....Just don't know about 5 or 99 through the Central Valley......
