Good Sam 3yr. Roadside Assisstance Membership
FYI Marcus. I am more than annoyed at what you have sent me as a MEMBERSHIP to Good Sam Roadside Assistance. For $500.00 CAD I expected more. The supposed membership card is embedded in a letter and cannot be copied. This card does not contain any information as to what to do in case of an emergency breakdown. That information is elsewhere. I am going to send a copy of this letter to Marcus and ask him to send me my money back174Views0likes1CommentGood Sam 3yr. Roadside Assisstance Membership
I recently signed up for the 3 yr. Good sam Roadside Assistance program. On the 21st. September 2023 $359.85USD (almost $500.00CAD) was charged to my VISA card. Since that time I have not received anything from Good Sam regarding my 3yr. membership - no letter, no enrollment details. no membership card, absolutely nothing. I believe I should have heard something from Good Sam, it has been 25 days since they took my money and so far I cannot leave to go south without some confirmation that I have Roadside emergency coverage. CASE # N1005C34920 DATE OF INCIDENT 8/27/23 NAME: WILLIAM MIKONIS This was hands down the worst experience anyone could ever have with GOOD SAM RV ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. If I had to take care of this myself, it would have been 100% easier . Around 11 am on sunday 8/27, my 25 ft RV blew out a rear inside tire on highway 81 heading south near lexington, va. I called your 800 # and talked to the tire division in new york. His name was marcell. At first he was very helpful and explained that they would look for a tire within a 60 mile radius. Of course, while he was looking I researched the web and found a walmart service center that had one approx 50-55 miles away. After 2 hours, marcell told me he could not find that tire anywhere and we had to talk to towing. i AKED HIM IF A TECH COULD GO AND PICK UP THE TIRE AT WALMART IF I PAID FOR IT AND HE TOLD ME NO. Talking to towing was like communicating with a non english speaking person from india. I think her name was Faith or Raquel. To put it nicely, she was dumb as rocks. I gave her the case # and had to re-explained where we were and what are situation was . She was going to research and call us back. Her english was 2nd rate and I could hardly understand a word she said. She then called back an hour later, ASKING FOR BASICALLY THE SAME INFO I GAVE HER AN HOUR EARLIER!! She then said she was still checking on it . She then called back asking more questions, I asked her 5 TIMES WHERE I WAS LOCATED to verify the info and she gave me the wrong location EVERY TIME . She kept telling me I was at natural bridge KOA, when that was the destination I need a go to . I then asked her if I was south or north of that location and she got that wrong 4-5 times. SHE HAD ZERO CLUE WHERE I WAS!!! I THEN ASKED HER ATLEAST 8 TIMES TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR AND SHE REFUSED!!!.SHE KEPT TRY TO DEVERT THE QUESTION WITH ANOTHER QUESTION I ANSWERED 10 TIMES BEFORE. At this point , I said screw it ,and was able to get to the campground for the night ( RISKING DRIVING A DAMAGED RV ). When I got to the campsite your towing dept called ( raquel ) she told me there was nothing she could do and had 911 on the line. WHAT IS 911 GOING TO DO!!!!. she was about as incompetent as the first girl and she refused 10 times to transfer me to a supervisor. I talked to marcell and he promised someone would be working on this at 8 am to find me a tire . No one did anything on this til 9 am when marcell came in to work. He found a tire and a tech would be here in 1-2 hours. Tech shows up at 1030 . His name was ZANE from LIBERTY TIRE. He was only 27 MILES AWAY. HERE IS WHERE I LOST IT, THE TECH, ZANE , TOLD ME HE WAS ON CALL ALL WEEKEND AND COULD HAVE EASILY DONE THE TIRE ON SUNDAY WITH NO ISSUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. HE TOLD ME GOOD SAM HAS A CORP MICHELIN ACCOUNT AND THEY DO WORK FOR THEM ALL THE TIME, EVEN ON WEEKENDS. MY GUESS IS YOUR COMPANY WAS TOO CHEAP TO PAY THE HOLIDAY RATE AND DECIDED TO LEAVE ME ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PUT MY FAMILY IN DANGER. What is ironic, is I saw Liberty tire on google maps and for some unknown reason, did not call them . Then to kick me one more time I got the bill and was charge 34.85 for a 3 year extended warranty that I did not ask for. Michelin tires come with a 40k warranty. Why would you tack this on to my bill without even asking.? I asked marcell for a breakdown of bill and refund on warranty and never received it . You company actually put my family in more danger and made the situation 10 time worst you can reach me at 336-580-3875 or email me at cmikonis@aol.com william mikonis666Views0likes9CommentsIs this normal?
We dropped AAA roadside service when they refused to change my tire in a parking lot on my RAM 2500. At my age I cannot break the nuts loose. They showed up and left without comment. Repeated calls to AAA finally resulted in my being told I needed an RV plan. They left me hanging at 2 in the morning. So I switched to Goodsam for our 5500 truck and camper, 2500, and Jeep Grand Cherokee. Ultimate plan, five years, paid in full. Fast forward to today. Called and had to answer lots of questions from a computer. Lots. Then asked which vehicle: “1. (null) or 2 (null)”. We have three. Then transferred to an agent with fair English. She asked the same questions! Really? Why waste my time? We told her several times the address and the destination. Then she said we had a $30 co-pay which is not mentioned anywhere in the Goodsam documents but we paid it. This convo occurred two days ago, towing was scheduled for today at 11. Driver called at 10 that he was available. Did not have the address. Rushed over to the parking lot and it was full. Driver had to park 90 degrees to our Jeep. Wanted to start the Jeep with no oil pressure. Said he could not load it without driving it on. I blew an engine once in the exact same situation and could not start it but the AAA driver was able to get it out and load it. This guy didn’t want to be bothered and threatened to leave so we relented. Anyway, the Jeep was delivered to the mechanic and was again started and driven off the ramp. I cringe at the thought of unnecessary motor damage. Anybody else have these kind of issues? Thinking about canceling Goodsam and trying USAA. I mean. What happens when our Ram 5500 with camper breaks down many miles from the nearest dealer? Thoughts, comments, cheer me up.1.6KViews0likes17CommentsAAA ERS FAIL
Last week I experienced an instant flat (near blowout) on Hwy 445 on the Pyramid Lake Highway on the reservation after running over small amounts of animal bones just northwest of Pelican Point and Windless Bay beach. Called AAA and they said no problem and confirmed my exact location on the Indian reservation and said less than 1 hour arrival time of Tow truck. After 1 hour I called them again and second operator said my service request had been cleared (stopped) but they would again contact a tow outfit and expediate my request and again they confirmed my location on the reservation. After another hour I checked voice mail and the 3rd call center operator said they did not have a permit to go on the reservation. I hung up and called local Indian tow operator (2 brothers) who live in Wadsworth on I-80 and other one Toby who lives in nearby Sutcliff village. In less than 30 minutes Toby arrived and together we placed a temporary spare on the rear wheel of my heavily loaded Dodge Ram 1500. On my way back to Reno I pass a AAA tow truck heading towards Pyramid Lake and my voice mail (4th operator) later says the truck is near my flat destination on the lake. This is at least 4 hours after 1st service call and 3 hours in high heat of noon day sun with no shade. Many many thousands of RVs and cars/trucks visit Pyramid Lake every year. I need another much more reliable ERS service. Maybe USAA?? or anyone else.1.9KViews0likes8CommentsExtra Charge
On Thursday 3/23 our car would crank but not start. I called our local GMC dealer which is 7 miles from my house and set up an appointment. Then I called Good Sam Roadside and they contacted a service provider that was 75 miles away (I have 2 local wreckers within 3 miles of me). The wrecker service called and informed me that I would owe them an additional $17.50 since the dealer was more than 2 Miles away and that Good Sam only paid for a 2 mile tow and after that it was on me for $3.50/mile after that, so I paid. If it had been more I would have lit Good Sam up (even though I didn't talk to a real person when I set it up) but I was busy on other projects. This was your vendor not mine. Not angry, just think there should be better communication between Good Sam and their vendors Thanks, John912Views0likes3CommentsAre bicycles covered for roadside assistance?
I'm older, and ride a 2 wheeler pedal powered bike all over the city and suburbs. If it broke down for whatever reason, flat tire, other mechanical failure, would it be covered by Good Sam Roadside Assistance? Where I come from (Ontario, Canada) bicycles are considered vehicles, and the Platinum coverage brochure states, under the what's covered section... "PROTECTION FOR ALL VEHICLES All owned, leased, rented or borrowed private-use, non- commercial vehicles are included: • Any RVs you own, lease, rent or borrow • Any Non-Recreational vehicles you own, lease, rent or borrow • Any personally owned vehicles Members loan to an Extended Family Member" A bicycle seems like it falls under bullet point 2 "• Any Non-Recreational vehicles you own, lease, rent or borrow"1.9KViews0likes11CommentsConfused about GS Roadside assistance membership
Hi there, We just started our journey from Jacksonville, FL to Austin,TX and have had to call GoodSam twice so far for roadside assistance for our tires. The first instance was after about 3hours on the road and our tire pressure app was going crazy alerting me to a leak in back left tire and low pressure. We pulled into a rest area and saw a puncture hol in tire called and GoodSam sent someone out to change it for us. Second instance we end up with a nail in our back right tire that was also leaking air but we don't have a spare now due to the previous tire issue. When we talked with goodsamband explained both situations and that we would need a tire the first agent said tire replacement would be covered completely and not to worry. We were called by a dispatch person to verify our location and he quoted a high price I wasn't expecting to hear and said they couldn't send someone without paying. We paid because we are literally stuck and desperate but I'm completely lost and confused at what is going on as when we originally signed up when we got our RV as well as when I've talked on the phone and through chat that tire replacement was 100%covered aside from miscellaneous with the membership we have. Goodsam isn't much help because I get assured then transferred and the second person seems clueless. Has anyone else had this issue happen? Where you able to get reimbursed? When we bought our RV we had to pay extra for the Goodsam membership through the dealership and ended up getting the Dealer Platinum+ if that makes a difference. Any help, suggestions, advice is greatly appreciated!1KViews0likes4Comments
