Are bicycles covered for roadside assistance?

I think it falls under common sense. A motor vehicle insurance plan would not commonly be expected to cover nonpowered bicycles.

Unless the insurance is Govt mandated... doesn't really matter what the Govt definition is.

Do an internet search for “Bicycle Roadside Service”. You will find several companies will provide it as a rider on a policy. What actual services they provide varies.

Good Sam may not include bicycles, but apparently other programs do:

Looks like AAA only covers "towing" your bike to a shop, but BCAA will try to fix it on the road first. It might not be in all areas, so check your AAA office to verify.

Spokeinsurance.com and BetterWorldClub.com also offer plans. Neither will fix your bike on the road, but will get you to a shop, etc.

I'm not disputing their brochure, but it does mention several types of vehicles in generalities in the paragraphs I quoted from the Platinum brochure, which states

"PROTECTION FOR ALL VEHICLES
All owned, leased, rented or borrowed private-use, non- commercial vehicles are
included:
• Any RVs you own, lease, rent or borrow
• Any Non-Recreational vehicles you own, lease, rent or borrow
• Any personally owned vehicles Members loan to an Extended Family Member"

My question to Good Sam was, a bicycle is generally considered to be a vehicle legally, and so, should probably be covered under the general statement of coverage quoted above. (Non-Recreational vehicles...)
They've arbitrarily decided that a bicycle is not a vehicle, in contravention of several federal/state legal definitions of same.
Many US states do define bicycles legally as vehicles (or carriages, as defined longer ago), as does the Uniform Vehicle Code which also defines them as vehicles. Even the United Nations defines them as vehicles.

An after thought probably, but they do go on to more clearly define which specific vehicles they'll cover, as their lawyers probably suggested they better, or some crazy person will ask about bicycle coverage.

Doesn't help me at all.
RV or not, I think they should be covered, as they are a "vehicle".

Maybe someone will start a rival Emergency Roadside Assistance company specifically including ALL types of vehicles, motorized and/or muscle powered, scooters, unicycles, e-bikes, Segways, et al. I'd subscribe to it.

It most likely is not covered.

I would call the phone number found on your policy and explain your bike.
They should be able to answer your question.
