We had a random on/off problem similar to what you describe. Ours was caused by a loose wire in the thermostat. When the trailer moved slightly the power would go off.

I think you might have been reading too much into crime stories that you see in the paper or on TV. For example, if there are several burglaries in the Jackson Wyoming area would you consider not going to Teton NP and Yellowstone?

50 amp plug handle
I have a 50 amp cord with molded ends but no handle. Is there some way to attach a handle to the cord instead of cutting off what is there? Just looking for ease of unplugging when camping.

I have rope lights on my awning and leave them on all night. I've done this for 20 years and have never had anyone tell me they were bothering them. I leave them on because I may have to take my two dogs out before it is light outside and it is a convenience for me not to have to bother with hitting the correct switch for the porch light.

Sometimes a lucky nickel will help the situation. I would go with a replacement step outside and rebuilding the stairs inside.

Weight loss on the road
My wife has been trying to lose weight as we travel around the country. It has been hard for her because even though she is pretty fat she has a difficult time staying away from sweets. Any suggestions?
