After each overnight stop check your tires in the morning before you hit the road and you will find that you have to add air. I disagree with the above. The correct tire pressure is determined by the weight of your MH and set at about 70 degrees. As the temps drop, so will the tire pressure, but this is factored in by the tire designers. If your tires are properly inflated in Florida, they will be fine in Missouri. Do a search for How Tire Pressures are affected by cold Temps and you will find lots of info on this topic/ Enjoy the cold!Re: Pouring of rv padwe just repoured our driveway and rv pad do to the weight of our Essex at 50K#. We poured 6" 3000# with 3/8" rebar and 12" footers everywhere! Beautiful! You mentioned 12" thick concrete in the back of your pad. Base is much cheaper than concrete. Use base to level the pad and pour 6" of concrete. This will out last you.Very Scary Tow Car BreakawayA dear friend sent me this photo of his Jeep Cherokee which recently became detached while driving on I-95. The story goes that they were driving down I-95 when a motorist drove up beside them madly honking his horn. Not understanding what the motorist was trying to tell them the wife looked out her side view mirror and saw their Cherokee visible in her mirror. Screaming at her husband (the driver) they watched as the Jeep hit the retaining wall and very slowly came to a stop. They were astonished realizing the miracle that the car never crossed the 4 lanes of heavy traffic and that they were going about 25 mph when things finally came apart. EVERY SAFETY FEATURE FAILED!!! The Air Force One braking system never actuated...Really! Upon inspection, both Base Plates had come loose from the car taking with it the bumper and Break Away mechanism and all the attachments including the Safety Cables and the Air Force One connections (which is why it failed to actuate.) All bolts for the Base Plates were gone...either sheared off or came loose on their own and everything was still attached to the towbar, now dragging behind the motorhome. I assume there was some poor Base Plate installation practices involved here as the system wasn't more than 18 months old. The moral of this story is to regularly inspect your towing gear. Shake things from time to time to see if things move that shouldn't. The amazing thing is, only damage was metal...the car was totaled due to age and mileage. Take this as a reminder to CHECK YOUR STUFF!!Re: Norcold 1200 LRIMYou and your DW will love the residential fridge. I replaced my 1200 with a Samsung 197. It was about 5" taller than the 1200 but I had the space. I now understand that Samsung has a shorter model. Enjoy the process!Re: Residential Refrigerator- how level?Having had a residential frig in our last two coaches there has been no issues caused by being unlevel. DanRe: RV Wine Glass RackWe purchase our wine glasses from IKEA and they come 6/box. We use the box for storing the wine glasses...works great but don't drop on on the tile floor :-((Looking for a 2013 Essex 4547 ownerWell, we have given up our '07 MA and traded up to a '13 Essex 4547. After our trip thru Alaska in the MA and crisscrossing the US we finally arrived home logging 23,000 miles. Post Alaska we decided it was time to retire the MA and found a wonderful new Essex. Anyway, I have always found it helpful to converse with other owners of the same Model and Year. So are there any 2013 Essex 4547 owners out there???
