I have a coaxial, electric outlet and stereo hook up in that compartment. I don't think there is any wood studs to mount it to. Since its behind my kitchen cabinets I was going to put a 3/4" backing of plywood from the inside and screw into that. I plan on powder coating white and either using putty tape and/or caulk to keep it waterproof. My question is this, would it be sufficient to hold a 32" TV in place only when stationary? I would obviously take the TV down while traveling. What are you thoughts? How would you do this job? Thanks in advance for your advice I like the homemade mount I saw on another forum. It connects to the bracket where an outside stove would be attached. I tried upload a picture here - no success. I will have to see what I need to do to upload the photograph. Here is a try of uploading the photograph. Re: Outside Television Mount judelaurenzo25g wrote: I want to install a TV mount on the outside of my RV right above my stereo compartment. I assume you bought it off of eBay right? I am looking at the same thing $300 plus shipping which shows to be $80 on their calculator. I notice the seller strongly recommends local pickup in Buffalo which is impossible for me, I guess they have had a lot of damaged ones due to shipping. I wonder which is safer UPS or FedEx? Did you have any damage to yours? I assume you buy an adaptor for the 4 prong 30 amp to a 3 prong RV type and plug it in there right? The 3000 I was looking at before did not have this plug, nor did it have the 12V outlet for charging batteries. Also does it have a switch to go from 115 to 230 VAC? Does anyone else have the new 3000L series? Thanks Kevin Kevin, I like the generator. Yes, I purchased it off of Ebay. The only damage experienced was to a plastic cover located behind the control panel. I called the company and they immediately sent a whole new control panel. The motor has shock absorbers on it and they figure that through shipping the motor bounced upward, making contact with the cover, which broke it. I made an adaptor, such as that shown by the professor, on page 9 of this thread. I purchased an RV outlet, 12 gauge wire, 2 male plugs, box, and cover at Lowes. Regarding the folks who work at the company that the generator was purchased from, they were very nice to talk to, answering all my questions.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.I received my Eliminator 3000L last week and connected it to the travel trailer this past weekend. I experienced no problems. It operated the a/c and microwave at the same time. Special thanks to the professor for starting this forum.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.I ordered the ELM 3000L. It is on the way. This is really interesting reading. Thanks to the Professor for starting this thread and for his help.Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.Professor, If you took the ELIM 3600 generator (3200 watt) and flipped the two switches up and added the dogbone, could you use the generator to power a 30 amp travel trailer or would one have to re-wire the generator? Thanks
