Monthly I start my two generators (Kipor 3000 for camping and Generac 8000 for the house backup). When I did this in April the Kipor made an awful sound, like there was loud exhaust leak and it wasn't outputting 120vac. Oil is fine (changed at least once a year and I only use the unit a handful of times). Well I decided to have the shop take a look at it, moved it near the truck and decided to start it again, and been running over an hour like a champ.... smooth, quiet, and running about 2000 watt load without any issue..... Gremlins?Re: Generator questionI just looked at the Champion and I have to say it looks good, but it may be to heavy. The reason I'm looking for a new generator(s) is because my 14 year old Kipor 3000 thats worked flawlessly over the years has finally developed a problem, and I'm weighing the differences between spending a few hundred, fixing it and continuing to lug around that heavy beast, or go to two smaller, lighter units. If my Kipor were a bit lighter I would surely fix it.... Maybe I should go see a champion in person and check it out....Re: Generator questionNo I didn't do that. The seller is a pawn shop, I could probably suggest that to them.... thanks....Generator questionI have the opportunity to purchase two slightly used Yamaha EF2000IS generators for a pretty fair price ($900 for the two). If I get them I'd buy the interconnect cable so I can run both and run everything in my camper, AC included. They've been sitting with full gas tanks for a bit and haven't been run in awhile. They start with one pull, but one but will only run smoothly and stay running with the choke out, once you start closing it, it starts to cough and will eventually die. The other runs a little rough with the choke out and stalls when pushed in. I've checked the voltage output (both 120vac and 12vdc outputs) and they're fine. I'm "assuming" the carbs are gummed up / dirty, and a good cleaning may take care of it, but I'm not mechanical enough to tear them apart and do that. Or maybe a little Sea Foam will clear it out? I'm open to your thoughts, and thanksRe: Linoleum replacementInteresting. Since mine is thin linoleum and since they placed everything right on top of it, for the most part I won't be able to slip the new flooring under existing furnishings and fixtures, so maybe using a color coordinated caulk like you did will have to do the job. And I don't have any sliders or steps to deal with, so hopefully it won't be too bad.Re: Linoleum replacementSo its hard to tell from the pictures RJXJ, but how did you installed the tiles when you got to the cabinets and other furnishings? Just you just get as close to the cabinet as possible, did you remove some furnishings to put the tile under them, use trim to cover the edges? Thanks and it looks great!Linoleum replacementits about time to replace the linoleum in my 2003 Coyote, its separating from the floor and its time to go, and I have a few questions for those who have replaced theirs. I'm thinking of replacing it with square linoleum/vinyl tiles, or a floating floor. So here are my questions: If you have used the square linoleum/vinyl tiles, did they stick well to the old existing sub floor? Did you pre-treat the sub floor with anything (paint, sealant, etc) to make them stick better or to prevent moisture? If you replaced your flooring with a floating floor, did you pre-treat the sub floor with anything, or lay down a vapor barrier/shield? Thanks!replacing vinyl floor, planning for expansionI'm thinking about replacing the vinyl flooring in my 03 camper (its worn, lifted in some areas, ready to go). I've seen a lot of posts about how to do it and different materials, etc, but most materials will expand and contract depending on the temp. What I want to know is, how do you handle expansion / contraction in areas like the trip piece at the door that covers the floor, or around the two fittings in the floor that your table support poles go into? To make it a nice clean fit I would think you would remove those pieces, lay the floor, then replace those pieces, but wouldn't that prevent the floor from expanding and contracting in those areas? Thankssolar charger and batteryI use a small solar charger to maintain my battery when camping and when I can't turn on my generator. My question is, when I use my generator should I disconnect my solar charger? thanksfloating flooring questionsI'm considering replacing my vinyl flooring with something like the Allure floating floor. My question is, if you've done it before, did you removed the table tube supports screwed to the floor, then floor over where they were installed then reinstall them, or did you do the flooring around the supports? Thanks
