I bought a 6" x 3' over the sink wood shelf at Big Lots. I Velcroed an electric outlet strip with 9 sockets to the top of it and velcroed it to the back of one of our counters. Now we have a home for all our gadgets (cellphones, earpieces, palm pilot, GPS, headsets, mp3 player)and it they don't take up counter space.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosWe bought our RV used and the front curtains that hang on a track covering the windshield had water spots that I wasn't able to remove. I wanted new window treatments but I didn't like the store bought drapery options and I couldn't afford the made to order pleated shades that I wanted. I decided to make my own, I bought some bamboo shades and backed them with solar shade material. then I attached drapery hooks and hung them on the existing rack. I love my new look, it matches the wood cabinetry and floor.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosI use a wonderbroom with rubber bristles to sweep my floor every day, it works on the carpet, throw rugs and linoleum. It picks up dog hair really well.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosI use a slide in trash container that we got at home depot to store our dog food. I put it in the cabinet under the sink, so I don't have to lift the 18# bag every time I feed the dog.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosWe have a class A RV and the front captain chair area seemed like wasted space when we are camped. We needed a desk area for our online business we operate out of our RV. We got a 2.5' x 5' table at a thrift store and cut down the 2 front legs to fit into the cup holders on the dash cabinet. We took off the others 2 legs and put one of them in the back-center with a screw on attachment piece so we can sit down easier with the corner legs out of the way. I then stained it to match our other cabinets. We have both captain chairs facing the table so we can set up 2 computers and now we have a nice desk. We take the legs off and put the table on the bed when we travel. I think I got the idea from a magazine article a few years ago, but I am not sure which one.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosOne of the best gadgets we have found is at: http://www.walkydogusa.com/ Our dog (a boxer) needed more exercise than I could walk so we found this attachment to hook onto my bicycle and I can ride while he runs, it is awesome.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosThank you soooo much! That's perfect. I just ordered it.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosI just finished ready all the posts, took me all day, great ideas, thanks. I have a problem I haven't been able to solve. I have a rope light that I like to hang on my awning. I recently bought a California screen room that slides into the groove where I used to hang the awning light. I have seen clasps to hang lights from the awning flap but it is outside my screen room and I want the light to be inside. I haven't been able to come up with another way to hang the light. any suggestions? Thanks
