I'll use the foil duct tape because even when I put the board in place I can feel a decent amount of cold air re-circulating into the intake side. Appreciate it guys.A/C issueI'm having an issue with one of my Coleman rooftop A/C's. The A/C was installed about a year ago because my original A/C was damaged beyond repair by hail. It looks like there is a foam board between the air intake and the side where the air blows into the vents and ducts. I've noticed when I have the air vents in the a/c closed (to push more air to the ducts) that this board will blow into the air intake side of the a/c. I have to take the air filter cover off to see this happen. The first time this happened it caused my a/c to freeze up. When I took the air filter cover off I saw the board laying down on that side of the a/c. I pushed it back to the middle and it was running fine again. The problem is I constantly have to push the board back up to keep air flow working as expected...especially when I close some of the main a/c vents to get more airflow into the ducts. Has anyone else had this issue? I was thinking about rigging something on the inside walls of the a/c to keep the board from moving. Anyone have any better ideas?Re: Chassis flex...interior doors wont stay closed when hitchedI have a 2014 Fuzion 331 and my bedroom does has this issue. When level, it closes just fine. When hooked up it won't stay closed.Re: Glad I bought the ole extended warrantyI have an Onan 5500 in my 2014 Fuzion 331. I have two 30 amp breakers on my generator. The front A/C is on one and the back A/C and microwave are on the other. The other electrical items are pretty much split up between the two breakers. We tailgate at college football games in our toyhauler, so we are using our generator a lot in September and October. We are normally very good about turning off the back A/C before we run the microwave. The first year we had the RV my wife ran the microwave and back A/C (and other small items that were plugged in) and it tripped the breaker on the generator. I heard what sounded like a surge before it tripped. Since then that same breaker has tripped very periodically with just the back A/C running. When it happens it is usually after the A/C has been running for a while.....I hear a small surge and then the breaker trips. It isn't consistent and I haven't been able to figure out why it trips. I went through all kinds of tests to try to determine a pattern, but I haven't found one. I even took it to a Cummins location here in San Antonio to have the generator looked at. I took it to them in July. They ran both A/C's all day and never had an issue with the generator. They even plugged other things in and couldn't get it to trip. If they purposely overloaded the circuit then the breaker tripped as expected. Basically, they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I had them change the spark plugs because they were due, but that didn't change anything. This past football season we had the same issue with the breaker tripping after the back A/C runs too long. I do plug other things like an LED tv and a satellite receiver in, but those shouldn't draw enough to cause it to trip. I'm going to try to do some more testing in May/June when it gets hotter. Who knows what, if anything, I'll find. BTW, the Onan generator has a manufacturer's 3-yr warranty. I would get it serviced under that manufacturer's warranty before trying to use the extended warranty. The manufacturer's warranty is "bumper to bumper". If anything is broken, they will fix it for free. You may have to take it to a Cummins service center to get warranty work done.Re: Onan 5500 gas generator issueI only get the bog down when both A/C's are running. This last time they were both running consistently for about 20 minutes. The temp in the RV was 90 and I set both thermostats to 72. The compressor/fan had not cycled on/off yet because when the bog down occurred the thermostats showed 81 and 82 for the room temps.Re: Onan 5500 gas generator issuebumping to see if anyone else has any opinions.Re: Onan 5500 gas generator issueI know it wasn't the electric hot water heater. We always use the propane water heater when we are dry camping. I thought the battery charger was a trickle charger and was always on. Does it cycle on and off?Onan 5500 gas generator issueI'm having an issue with my on board Onan 5500 generator. This is in a 2014 Keystone Fuzion. Last Summer we were dry camping in very hot Texas weather. We had both A/C's running, along with other small stuff (tv's, lights, etc). My wife turned on the microwave and it caused one of the 30A breakers on the generator to trip. I shutdown the generator, turned the other breaker off, turned them both back on, and then started the generator back up. I let the generator run for about 5-10 minutes before I turned on one A/C. I waited another few minutes then turned on the other A/C. Everything ran fine for about 20 minutes.....at which point the generator seemed to bog down. I thought it was going to shutdown, but after about 10 seconds, everything seemed normal again. Both A/C's stayed on and nothing tripped on the generator. Everything ran fine after that. We are continuing to get this "bogdown" moment about 20 minutes after I have both A/C's running. When it bogs down I normally turn off the back A/C for a few minutes, then start it back up. It normally runs fine at that point. Every now and then the bogdown will occur again. The generator has about 240 hours on it. The oil has been changed at regular intervals. I just changed the air filter (the old one was a little oily....not sure if that's a sign of an issue) and the fuel filter. Nothing changed with the bogdown issue. I haven't cleaned out the spark arrestor yet....it's on list of things to do. One other thing that is odd is after the initial issue occurred, the exhaust isn't smooth. When I put my hand in front of the exhaust, I don't feel a smooth flow of exhaust....it feels like small bursts of exhausts at a very fast interval. It is consistent interval, but doesn't seem like the smooth flow of exhaust that I had before the issue. Anyone have any thoughts? I'm still within the 3 yrs Cummins warranty, so I may just take it to the local Cummins service center and let them take a good look at it. However, if this is something I can do myself I'd prefer to go that route. Thanks.Re: Andersen hitch questionThe odd thing is the service center I go to actually sells the Andersen hitch. You would think they could put a larger ball on a long neck to move trailers around with the Andersen block on them. It looked like the steel neck that the 2" ball was mounted on came in contact with the block, so the hitch was resting on the steel neck, not the 2" ball. This scratched up the bottom of the block and the inside of the block when the 2" ball freely moved around. I'm not sure if that makes sense or not.Re: Andersen hitch questionI've had the Andersen Ultimate hitch for about a year. I love the hitch. The only issue I've had is when I take it in for service my service center doesn't have a good setup to move my trailer around in the service yard. Their forklifts have the typical kingpin receiver and the travel trailer 2" ball, but they don't have a larger ball that fits into the Andersen coupler. The first time I took it in with the Andersen coupler, they tried to use the 2" ball to move it and it damaged the coupler enough where I couldn't slide the pin over when I picked it up. I was able to chip away some of the aluminum on the inside of the coupler, which allowed the pin to close correctly. The next time I took it in I told them about it and they said they would be more careful. Well, the same thing happened. This time it was damaged worse and the service center agreed to replace the coupler. I picked it up a week later with a new coupler and everything was good. The problem is this service center said they are going to have customers remove the Andersen coupler in the future because they don't have a good way to move the trailers around in their yard without damaging the couplers. I don't want to take the block off everytime I take it in for service. Has anyone else experienced this?
