All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Interior Remodel/FinishingSo I found that our local repair station could handle the finishing. I demoed out the unwanted items and expect to get the unit back this week from finishing. Orig. wall paneling no longer available from Keystone, generic white ceiling panel and batts are. I did find corner trim, batts and tape in orig. color from RV Parts Nation. They have wall panels as well, but freight prohibitive. The opening up of our unit completely transformed it. MUCH more useable, seems lots bigger. We addressed a structural issue by shortening an aluminum framed wall to 8" to act as a truss across the top of the garage front, anchored at the wall where the slide terminates just in case she wanted to rack a bit. Next up - plank flooring.Interior Remodel/FinishingOK here goes... Our TT needs an interior wall and overhead bunk removed and the remaining interior affected needs to be finished so, as my Dad says, "It doesn't look like I did it". I've figured out the demo and can facilitate that portion of the project, but the challenge is finding that one person/shop/company that will commit to the re-finishing. The ceiling will have screw holes where the demo'ed attachment was taken loose, as well as some in the side paneling. Some paneling will need to be ripped to fit endwalls and trim pieces applied. Some matching batten, corner trim and joint tape will need to be resourced. (Subject is 2012 Keystone, factory no joy on comm. regarding replacement trim pieces, dealer says send pics and we'll go from there, likely matching trim and batten available). One light switch will need to be re-positioned (I can do) and there is no affected plumbing/wiring. Anyone know of that "handy, skilled and thorough" person in the USA who can do? Thanks in advance, tjRe: Is 37' to much for a shortbed SRW??Our '12 Cougar 325SRX has identical specs, currently using our DODGE RAM 2500 Quad SRW (shortbed) 6.7 CTD. WORKS GREAT!! I wouldn't go heavier unless I had more brakes.Re: Yellowstone in SeptemberI will be watching this thread as well, we're heading up thru ID into MT for a look around and are looking forward to trying out a few CG we found near river's edge. Like what we're reading about the crowds thinning after Labor day which is exactly when we'll be in MT. Thanks to the OP for starting, looking forward to reading more!Re: Modesto Ca to San Diego which route to avoid LA trafficI'm going to also recommend the 58 'detour'. It's worth the 6hr20min vs. 6hr flat differential. What's 20 min. for a little peace of mind and not sniffing the car in front of you's butt for 1.5 hrs.?Re: Idaho (Magic Valley), MT, Both Dakotas bobsallyh wrote: The drive from TF to Idaho Falls is good, as it is all interstate. US 20 from IDF to West Yellowstone is no problem. The road coming out of Ashton up the hump has a rough spot or two, but nothing to worry about. When coming thru Island Park, respect the speed limits as posted due to heavy recreation areas. Copy the speed limit. Temps have been wonderful. Oh my, in S. Cen. Caliphony it's 102 and yuk. Something else. If you can, fuel and grocery up in IF before heading up to West. It will save you some bucks. There is a Super Wally at I-15 and Yellowstone hiway with lots of parking. OK! We were planning a recconoiter on that very thing, so we'll tick it off the list! Thanks all for the input.Re: Best Route to Sequoia Park in CaliforniaThis may be late but I just got here. Take the 180. Don't shortcut on the 245. Go N 99 to N 41 to E 180. If SB 99 then S 99 to E 180. Once you enter the Kings Canyon NP there will be a R turn and that's the inter-park road that'll connect you to Sequoia NP.Re: Idaho (Magic Valley), MT, Both Dakotas Are you considering going I-84/86 to I-15 to US 20? Yes, that's the route. How are you getting to the North Entrance? Looks like I meant the West entrance after I read your question and looked closer to the map. Check rvparkreviews.com for listings in Medora Got it. Thanks for the intel, knowlton!Re: Idaho (Magic Valley), MT, Both Dakotas 1. Its an Interstate hiway with minor pulls. 2. Be aware many RVP's in ND are pretty full of oil workers. Some will have a few (few) spots for overnighters but not many. Thanks h2guy.Idaho (Magic Valley), MT, Both DakotasHi folks. Have a few questions about the subject. 1. How's the tow north out of Twin up to MT, West Entrance to YSNP? 2. CG's recc'd. in North Dakota somewhat near to Teddy Roosevelt NP? We can dry camp as needed, but we're 50A/full/pull thru sorta folk. Thanks, and have a ball!!
