So , whatever way you travel enjoy the short time we have :)Re: Water heater out for repairs - anything else to do?Hello There :).YUP, hot water heater after working quite well, It doesn't lite anymore ?..checked all the connections , fuses, and all works well, except doesn't lite..any suggestions ?Re: CDL to pull your THWell, I see that from this posting, Ignorance is alive and festering more and more about what constitutes what a COMMERCIAL DRIVERS LICENSE IS FOR ? People quoting this weight and that weight, this many axles ?????..... Someone posted the correct response for the commercial drivers licenses and still they keep yacking about what they don't know, that in the long run some one will get their dumb opinion come true and there goes another chip away from common sense. We know there are morons who drive, we see it all the time, especially the ones who talk on cell phones driving their COMMERCIAL COMPANY TRUCK THAT WEAVES OVER INTO YOUR LANES ??? AND THEY BEEN DRIVING FOR YEARS!!! so, what's wrong with that picture ? The law can't distinguish nor can they legislate what moron or idiot are taking a test, commercial or non-commercial? We see it all the time and we say "WHERE DID THAT PERSON GET THEIR DRIVERS LICENSE FROM" ? No TYPE of license will make a better driver . COMMERCIAL DRIVERS LICENSE means: You drive for hire or work driving a vehicle that is in commerce "making a profit " Privately owned vehicles even if you have your own tractor trailer for RVing you do not need a commercial drivers license. If you still don't get "IT" Look up the Federal mandated definition for what constitutes a commercial vehicle. You'll be very surprised :) Have a good day :)Re: Ford 460 V8 oil consumptionIt's not a good idea to use a synthetic oil if the original engine has always used the common oil. The reason for not using synthetic oil : It works too well > The s- oil has a tendency to remove all the normal build up around the rings and valves and when that is accomplished the s- oil will slip by the rings and valves, you will have a little more oil usage than before. Synthetic oil is designed and used in newer vehicles. I to, have a 460 with 92,0000 and I use 10-40 with changes every 2800 miles ( motor home) I also have a town car (460) With 272000 plus and use the same oil :) changes at the same time. Both vehicles are highway miles. Now I'm not an expert, but if you ask a GOOD mechanic he can explain the differences better. make your own comparison :) :)Re: "QuartzSite"-? What's the attraction????I went there for the first time after hearing and reading about Quartzite a few years back.......The drive there was scenic and very pleasant :)..................Did I mention I went there ?...:(....Re: FDA Baffled and asking dog owners for answers??Hello four legged fur lovers :). Not long ago I lost my four legged friend his name, was Greystoke. He was twenty two when he died. Now, I'm not going to side one way or another about this food problem we have in losing our pets to being poisoned from another country or for that matter our own food pet suppliers. Now , I'm not an expert on nutrition for dogs however, all in the canine family are scavengers, they are carnivorous, they eat raw meat. they have a digestive system to handle that meat. Sadly over the years we are led to believe that dogs require a balanced diet in advancing that premise, Big cereal co. get on the band wagon and give the propaganda how good and beneficial their dog food is. well, if people want to hear and believe that propaganda so be it . Of course, I'm not an expert and it is only my opinion. But my first dog I had he was eating meat raw NOT COOKED. He also ate raw chicken NOT COOKED. He and I were together over 14 years and he died in his sleep, a natural death. As I mentioned I lost "Greystoke" in February, His food was meat, basically the same as my first dog when I was young, My Grandparents dog died after 15 yrs and he was fed meat NOT COOKED. Now as I mentioned, It's only my opinion-but all the dogs in our family ate meat and did fine .Vets check up very rare, as most vets were farm vets taking of the cattle ,horses, dogs and cats ,not so much, But today we have an industry that is marketed and designed towards our pets (dogs) and the spin-offs well, you get the idea. ( cats also ) Now the best person to ask ,is your Vet, ask them direct questions. My Vet has no vested interest in companies that profit from Pet products and my Vet took excellent care of my Greystoke. By the way, Greystoke loved fresh fish :) Its just my opinion and observation, but dogs and cats are not vegetarians. Another observation, dogs and cats have to EXERCISE. Well as I said, its only my opinion. :) hope all is well with you all :).Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Hello there fellow rvrs ! :) It's good to see many animal lovers out there . It is sad to lose a fur ball buddy, sad indeed :(. My fur ball friend has been with me 21 years and traveled the states frequently. Some of you out there may have seen us in your travels. He is totally white, eyes that melt your heart. He goes by the name of Greystoke and weighs in at 60 pounds and has to stop at all the lakes, streams ,the two oceans and the gulf to have his swim :) its only been the the last couple of months since his back spine started to weaken causing him to walk erratically, and after awhile won't be able to walk at all. But he is a tough old dog we still get on the floor and commence to wrestle and he still pins my arm to the floor in which I have to give up:)Our VET says he's full of life and strong as ever except for his back spine being weak. so, I'll be getting him one of those fancy wheel supports so he can chug along with me for a few more years. his breeds life span is supposed to be around ten years I won't mention his breed because of ignorant people which are not here on this sight Thank goodness :). I guess the point is this: take care of your dog or cat and they will take care of you by being there in good times or bad they never complain, like WE do, never ask for anything like WE do . See you on the road my fellow RVrs ! :)
