If you don't mind I will jump in for my 2 Cents. :) Voltage and Amperage are two different things and almost all VOM can only read Voltage and Ohms. To read Amps AC or DC requires a Clamp on type of meter that will clamp around a wire you want to test for Amperage (Load). I was not to sure from the post if this was how you were testing your Amp Load. There is a lot of good advise on hear and I am sure you will get to the bottom of your issue.Re: RV Dealer / Service CenterWell it would appear to some that you must Lie to your fellow Man in order not to offend some! In short! I did have an appointment booked weeks in advance. I get the impression some you you think I went around with a bull horn expressing my displeasure! All conversations were normal and polite! So all you nay Sayers would have done what when asked a question about your equipment from someone you do not know! 1. Say Nothing (I have no comment) 2. Lie 3. Answer the question. If you are scared express your First Amendment rights then you have deeper issues in your life! The spoken truth is better than any lie you could tell. I am Done! :) No more comments from me on this thread. If you feel compelled to continue this PM me.Re: RV Dealer / Service CenterInteresting! I am a little taken back as to some of the reply's as to I am at fault! Well it is not in my nature to lie when asked a question! The question was asked to me from someone I did not know nor was I talking to! Had she not done so none of this would have happened! And No I did not shout! As far as naming the dealership, well it should not be too hard to see who it is. Now that being said up until that point I have had good relations with the dealer / service dept. I know that they did not build the unit and I understand they are sometimes in the middle between us and the factory! They catch all the hell and none of the glory! But is that grounds for telling a customer you are not welcome hear if you speak the truth about YOUR unit when asked? IMHO if it was such a concern they could have asked me to talk to the lady with them present and I would have done so! The point of talking to her later was to keep my in processing moving along and get out of the way! It was not my intent to publicly shame the dealer! If I meant to do that I would put a poster on back of the RV as I went down the road for all to see! Yes, losing my business will not hurt them in any way! And Yes if my host asked if the dinner was good? to be polite I would say yes! If she charged me money for burned meatloaf HELL NO! To Quote: I have an idea; how about we drop all this politically correct bull****? How about we all talk to each other openly and honestly without making certain words off limits and without deeming certain subject taboo? How about we eliminate the fear of offending our fellow man and replace it with an honest attempt at understanding our fellow man? Go ahead, ask me anything. I won’t cry and I won’t tell you what a bad person you are. In return, however, I might want to ask you a couple of questions. Please don’t pistol whip me because you didn’t like my phrasing. Real tolerance comes from education, so let’s all quit being afraid to raise our hands in class.RV Dealer / Service CenterWhere to start? Well I took my RV to the dealer for some repairs. As a note this is the same dealer I bought it from and I make sure that they know that I am coming to make room for me. Well I got there and the only place to put the unit effectively blocked everyone else in. So as I am going through my list of issues with the rep a couple walks by and she says "How do you like your Voltage?" I said "I hate it" wish I had never bought it! She says WHY??? I said "get with me after this and I will tell you" the rep and I finish up and she goes in the print out the estimate. A short time after that as I am unhooking the unit the service manger comes out and says " Hay you can just take it somewhere else as we don't need you telling people our RV's suck!" I am a little older and a little more calmer than I used to be or I would have ended up in jail (again)! :D I did the WTH and he told me what his rep said! Well to make a long story longer I had a closed door talk with him as he knows me and he knows I don't like the unit! He said how would you like it if someone told you the unit you just bought sucked! I said SHE ASKED ME as I do not know them from Adam and how in the hell would I know that they bought the same unit as mine! More was said and at the end I think he knew he screwed up! NOW that being said I have a long memory and a lot of RV folks that go to that dealer on my recommendation! I think that will change but I am going to wait and see how the repairs come out and see if I get an apology before making that call!Re: Refrigerator not coolingIn my experience some refrigerators are more forgiving than others. As the units do not have a compressor and rely on heat for circulation of the ammonia, having the unit level insures maximum performance. My advice is start by leveling your RV and see what happens! If it still does not work on AC or LP have it checked by your RV dealer. Just my 2 cents! :DRe: Almost all of us have had one of theis trips! Well mabey NotYes! I grew fond of the area back in the 80's when I was stationed at Luke AFB. We made a lot of trips up their on the motorcycle's back then!Almost all of us have had one of theis trips! Well mabey NotAlmost all of us have had one of these trips! Well maybe Not! ;) It was the return leg from Alabama back to the central coast of California. Day six on Hwy 40 about 20 Miles east of Albuquerque NM. We heard a "BUMP" HMMM what was that? Everything feels good nothing in the mirrors! Ah something in the road, Had to be! Well as we were going down the grade into town a nice Man in a very clean F350 got my attention and was making jesters to my trailer and that I should pull over! WTH! As I slowed the trailer jerked a little and I could see smoke from the right side tires! The RT front tire sidewalls had shredded with the tread remaining intact. The tread had wrapped around the drum and axel with the middle tire running over it to make sure it was pulled in good and tight! I removed the tire and a hour later had the tread removed also! Now let’s put the spare on! As I mounted the spare I noticed a "HOLE" that had worn into the side wall of the tire from something on the RV! Well it will get me off the road and I will replace it tomorrow! I forgot that tomorrow was a holiday! Well I could not find a tire store open the following day! SO knowing better I pressed on to Flagstaff AZ with the bad sidewall spare and a not so good middle axle RT side! It got hurt making sure the old tread was pulled tight on the front axle! Found a truck stop and put a 16" tire on the old wheel so I would at least have something to get me off the road if needed! As we drove my wife booked us an appointment online for 9AM at the local tire shop in Flagstaff (assuming we make it)! Well made it without any more drama and the next day and $1400.00 later we had SIX new tires on the rig and off we went!Re: Auto Leveling on a TT??My 5er has one and it is electric, I have not had any issues with it to date but the newer models have gone hyd.Class A Dealer?Has any one bought from "Stephan Davis and Associates" ? http://www.rvclassified.com/ is where I found the link! The deals look to good to be true! Diane Diane Hills 360-450-0297 (12PM-4PM Pacific Time) Sales Manager Stephan Davis and AssociatesRe: Upgrade to a Voltage?Buying from Trailer Hitch was easy! He used to post all his prices but now he has a “Call for best price” on the higher end units. However that being said I will buy from them again and I bet he still has the lowest prices on the west coast. Our issues on the Voltage were handled by Trailer Hitch very fast and professionally (they sold it but they did not build it).:)
